If a Democratic administration ever had this many officials in a department leave over a scandal like this, the MSM would breathlessly be chattering about the crisis of confidence in the White House. But this is a Republican president and subject to completely different rules.
Facing multiple investigations, a senior Justice Department appointee has resigned his post.
Bradley Schlozman stepped down from his position as a counsel in the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys, a branch of the Department of Justice, last week, a Justice spokesman confirmed Wednesday.
Arlen Specter & The U.S. Attorney Scandal

Exactly why are the Democrats allowing Sen. Arlen Specter to be such a driving force in the debate about the loathsome incompetent Alberto Gonzales? Sen. Specter is a long-serving member of the senate, and while he’s not as wingnutty as his compatriots (he is from Pennsylvania after all), he is IN THE MINORITY. Specter is the ranking member, but Sen. Leahy is the freaking chairman and in the majority. Democrats need to learn like they’re the ones in power, because when you don’t – you lose it.
Justice Gonzales??

Do you remember that Alberto Gonzales was on the “short list” of Supreme Court nominees for the Bush administration? Holy cow, did we dodge a bullet.
Somewhere Janet Reno and John Ashcroft are adding Gonzo their Christmas card lists for making them both look so much better at their jobs in retrospect. Ashcroft was a snoopy prude but at least the man at least pretended to understand the constitution and that he has to answer a U.S. senator when he’s asked a question!
GOP Government

The old Russian communists could have learned a thing or two about enforcing orthodoxy and purging idealogical undesirables from the work of Justice Department official Bradley Schlozman. These people care nothing about running our government, only about raiding the treasury to transfer money to their party pals. Sick.

That’s the larger message behind the U.S. Attorney scandal.
The White House’s former political director was furious at Justice Department officials for disclosing to Congress that the administration had forced out the U.S. attorney in Little Rock, Ark., to make way for a protege of Karl Rove, President Bush’s political adviser, according to documents released late Tuesday.
Then-White House political affairs director Sara Taylor spelled out her frustrations in a Feb. 16 e-mail to Kyle Sampson, then the chief of staff to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
She sent the message after Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty told the Senate that unlike other federal prosecutors, U.S. Attorney Bud Cummins wasn’t fired for performance reasons, but to make way for former Republican political operative Tim Griffin. Griffin, serving as the interim U.S. attorney, then announced that he wouldn’t seek confirmation to the Arkansas post, but would remain until the Senate confirmed someone else. Griffin has since resigned.
“Tim was put in a horrible position; hung out to dry w/ no heads up,” Taylor lashed out in the e-mail, which was sent from a Republican Party account rather than from her White House e-mail address. “This is not good for his long-term career.”
Not the good of the country or the integrity of the Justice Department, but his career was the foremost thing in her mind.
