“The Dark Knight Rises” Is Title Of Third Christopher Nolan Batman Movie

batman by jim leeWell that’s a departure from the comic.

Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film will be called ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and though the Gotham City auteur isn’t ready to reveal the villain of his 2012 film, he did eliminate one of the big contenders: ‘It won’t be the Riddler,’ Nolan said in an exclusive interview with the Hero Complex.

Nolan was most eager to talk about the fact that Warner Bros. had  agreed with his argument that the film should resist the current 3-D craze and instead use high-definition approaches and IMAX cameras to strike out on a different cinematic path than the stereoscopic technology that, for better or worse, has become the dominant conversation in the blockbuster sector.

I’m glad Batman won’t be another movie destroyed by B.S. 3-D. Nolan’s two batmovies have been home runs, so I have high expectations for this next one. Hopefully he doesn’t get into villain overload, though I’d like to see a side character like Catwoman or even Robin/Nightwing pop in.

Air Force Goes Batman

This can only be good.

Started by the Air Force in 2004, BATMAN — short for Battlefield Air Targeting Man-Aided kNowledge — aims to modernize the gear that commandos take with them on covert missions.

‘In the earliest stages when we were coming up with a name for the program, we were perceived as having a lot of gadgets,’ said Reggie Daniels, BATMAN program engineer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. ‘[Batman's] devices allow him to have an advantage. That is what we’re trying to do.’

Batman 3: July 20, 2012

Batman

The release date, and not much more, has come out. The Christopher Nolan era Batman movies have benefitted from not having too many villians creep in to ruin them, even Two Face’s presence didn’t pile on too much. But comic book movies seem to always hit this bump, just look at the mess that was Spider-Man 3, and I have my fears about Iron Man 2.

The next Batman movie should focus on one major villain from Batman’s rogues gallery – someone like Mr Freeze, Penguin, etc. (Riddler’s probably a little too goofy to carry a movie).

Also: No Robin, please.

Don’t know about the game, but its kind of weird how the voice sounds like Heath Ledger’s Joker. Is that now the definitive version of him?
