“Sharpshooters and Indian Army commandos launched stakeouts across the heart of India’s financial capital on Thursday, trying to rescue hostages trapped in a series of attacks by militants that have left at least 101 people dead. At least four dead bodies and a trickle of hostages were escorted out of the iconic Taj Mahal Palace and Tower hotel — a castle-like 1903 landmark that was set on fire during the attacks and has been transformed into a smoldering symbol of a city under siege. ” [Link]

“Authorities have recovered a stolen 18-carat gold bookmark that reportedly was given to Adolf Hitler by his longtime mistress, Eva Braun. Christian Popescu, a Romanian national, was arrested Tuesday outside a Bellevue Starbucks after trying to sell the bookmark to an undercover agent for $100,000, according to papers filed in U.S. District Court. Federal prosecutors said the bookmark was among several items taken in an auction-house heist in Madrid, Spain, six years ago.” [Link]

“Citing its ’spies,’ TMZ reported that O’Day spent Tuesday in a Manhattan photo studio shooting a spread for the magazine with celebrity photographer Markus Klinko, who has snapped portraits of Mariah Carey and Pamela Anderson, and shot the cover of Beyoncé’s 2003 album Dangerously in Love. According to TMZ, O’Day’s Playboy shoot may feature several lion cubs. A spokesperson for Playboy told MTV News that the magazine could not confirm or comment on the photo shoot.” [Link]
