“A northwest Indiana fifth grade teacher has resigned his post after allegations surfaced that he sent sexually charged text messages to some of the school’s eighth grade cheerleaders. ‘Something tells me ur not the goody good yur mom thinks ur. 20% Of Korean Students Are Sexting
“Following research on 1,612 middle and high school students nationwide, 323 respondents, accounting for 20 percent of the total, have engaged sexting, a combination of sex and texting. About 21.9 percent had taken nude or semi-nude pictures of themselves or their peers, while 2.8 percent recorded themselves or their friends’ masturbating or having sex. About 5.2 percent had sent sexually explicit text messages or emails. Many of them said it was just for fun or out of curiosity but about 17 percent said sexting could be a way to flirt with their love interests in the online world. ” [Link]

“Melinda Dennehy, 41, of Hampstead, turned herself in to Londonderry police and was later released on $10,000 bond. She was placed on administrative leave from her job at Londonderry High School on Wednesday, the day school officials and police were notified about the pictures going around school. The boy who received the photographs told police Dennehy also sent him text messages offering to have sex, and that she kissed him on the mouth in a classroom at least twice in recent months.” [Link]
