“An Emmy-winning CBS News producer accused of shaking down David Letterman for $2 million will plead guilty Tuesday in exchange for a six-month jail sentence, sources said. Under the agreement, Robert Halderman will also serve 4 1/2 years probation and do 1,000 hours of community service. Letterman was having an affair with Halderman’s former girlfriend, “Late Night” staffer Stephanie Birkitt.” [Link]

Edis Kayalar: Model Sentenced For Blackmailing Cindy Crawford

“Former model Edis Kayalar was convicted Tuesday in German court of blackmailing supermodel Cindy Crawford and will spend the next two year in jail, the AP is reporting. The court determined that Kayalar extorted money from Crawford in 2009 by threatening to release a photo of her daughter, then 7, gagged and bound to a chair. He received $1,000 from the model for a copy of the image, but then turned around and asked for an additional $100,000.” [Link]

“The Wisconsin teen convicted of using a Facebook scam to blackmail his classmates for sex acts will soon know his sentence. Nineteen-year-old Anthony Stancl of New Berlin pleaded no contest in December to two felonies, including repeated sexual assault of a child. He faces up to 50 years in prison when he’s sentenced Wednesday afternoon. Prosecutors have said they’ll recommend a ’substantial’ sentence.” [Link]
