Hispanic Vote Slip Sliding Away

In 2004, Hispanic voters went 55-44 (I’ve been informed the correct number is 40%) for John Kerry. Apparently unsatisfied with this historically good performance among this growing segment of voters, the Republicans decided to become the party of attacking hispanics, of trumping up as much noise as possible about a hispanic invasion that would threaten the lives of white people. That strategy is going to pay dividends. For Democrats. Barack Obama currently leads John McCain 62-29 among Hispanic voters.

And in a related note from Planet Duh, Sen. Obama leads among black voters 90-4. That 4% will come around.

    “That 4% will come around.”

No, that four percent is probably made up of people who receive regular visits from giant rabbits in space ships. It’s the remainder–the 6 percent difference unaccounted for–that will come around.

And McCain actually has higher support among Hispanics than any of the other Republicans would have, because he’s less crazy on immigration than they are. Romney would have been 25%; Tancredo maybe 10$.

Clearly, this is good news for McCain.

You are right about the 6%. The 4% are people like J.C. Watts, Lynn Swann and Michael Steele.

Linking John McCain to the failures of US Policies and the embargo to Cuba and offering practical CHANGE policies help Cuban-American families will help attract Latinos to Obama and Democrats.

Obama has increased his popularity with all Latinos by giving practical changes and opening the door for real engagement with Cuba that the newer generation and offers an end to US policies against Cuba that only hurts the citizens of Cuba, not its government.

Obama proposed elimination of family travel restrictions to Cuba appeals to the older generation (post-Cuban 1959 revolution exiles generation). This CHANGE may prove very effective in Florida and give Hope for new real practical immigration policy that can come from the Democratic President OBAMA and the Democratic Senate and Congress.
