Looks to me like Obama has trouble appealing to those hard workin’ white folks.
Oregon doesn’t count, though. It’s a shame.
I was there and I’m a hard workin’ white folk.
Hopey changey goodness for all! (but I will control what car you drive, how much and what you eat, and what kind of car you drive)
“Zen fascists will control you
100% natural
You will jog for the master race
And always wear the happy face”
“Close your eyes, can’t happen here
Big Bro’ on white horse is near
The hippies won’t come back you say
Mellow out or you will pay
Mellow out or you will pay!”
“Come quietly to the camp
You’d look nice as a drawstring lamp
Don’t you worry, it’s only a shower
For your clothes here’s a pretty flower.”
(Jello Biafra 1979)
Take it down a notch, Christie.
Christie:
You do know who Jello Biafra is, right? I’ll just say that he won’t be invited to a Republican WH anytime in my lifetime or yours.
Hey Christie, I’ll see your California Uber Alles and raise you Hellnation:
Hellnation’s when they teach us
Profiting from greed
Hellnation’s where they give us
Coke, heroin and speed
Hellnation’s when they tell us
You gotta go clean up your act
You’re the one who dragged me here
And now you drag me back
(chorus)
Problem is, few care
About the people in despair
If you help no one
You’re guilty in this Hellnation
Hellnation’s when the president
Asks for four more fucking years
Hellnation’s when he gets it
By conning poor people and peers
Hellnation - got no choice
What’s the point in trying to vote?
When this country makes war
We all die in the same boat
In this Hellnation
(chorus)
It’s the only world we’ve got
Let’s protect it while we can
That’s all there is and there ain’t no more
Hellnation - asking please
For a nuclear freeze
So the unborn kids
Get their chance to live and breathe
Hellnation - asking aid
For the minimum wage
So the kids of tomorrow
Don’t wind up slaves to their trade
In this Hellnation
(chorus)
- DKs
Amazing photos!
Yes Calvin I do. I was one of the punks slamming (before they called it a mosh pit) at the Whiskey in 1979.
Who gives a crap about Jello and the Republican party. Facism and the cult of personality are alive and well in the Democrat party.
Seriously, christie, come off the ledge.
Rock star, baby!
“Facism and the cult of personality are alive and well in the Democrat party.”
Are you serious? Really? Now people can’t get excited about a candidate without being labeled a Hitler Youth?
And you say this while writing “Democrat” party, the biggest tell of the new-speak addled right-wing? Please.
It isn’t pretty when punks age.
Barack Star!
“Hopey changey goodness for all! (but I will control what car you drive, how much and what you eat, and what kind of car you drive)”
Oh, and Christie, you may want to check out Biafra’s platform when he was nominated in 2000 as the presidential candidate for, wait for it, the Green Party.

and Here: http://www.angelfire.com/punk/jello2000/statement.html
A relevant passage from the second link:
It takes activism to inspire people that they can change things for the better–and inspire them to vote. There is no magic leader like Nelson Mandela or Vaclav Havel on the horizon to lead us to the promised land. This country is too vast and too complicated. We all need to be Mandela and Havel, each in our own way. The power to inspire brings with it a lot of pressure. It should be used, but not misused. I hope to inspire more and more people to get their feet wet and fight the power, from inside and outside the system.
As a Green, Biafra, of course, does not support Obama or any mainstream political candidate. He also doesn’t support SUVs:
“In Maine, some people made counterfeit traffic tickets and ran around writing-up SUV owners as ‘Earth criminals’. Then, in Santa Cruz, someone spray-painted dozens of SUVs in one night. The corporate media presented this as some terrible affront to civilisation, which was hilarious. We need a new law that owners of SUVs are automatically in the military reserve. Then they can go get their own goddamn oil.”

you’re an idiot, christie.
Do you realize that’s more people than voted for McCain in the CT Republican primary?
Very impressive. I don’t care who you know.
Facism and the cult of personality are alive and well in the Democrat party.
So which candidate do you support? If one wanted to be uncharitable, one could also say the same thing about Senator Clinton. Hell, the Republicans do it every four years around their candidate.
“The power to inspire brings with it a lot of pressure. It should be used, but not misused.”
As an addendum, the reason why I bolded this quote is because Biafra is clearly not opposed to inspirational political leaders who call for social change. He does, however, rightly remind us that the power to inspire can be misused.
Christie, when you say that “Facism and the cult of personality are alive and well in the Democrat party” you seem to be implying that Barack Obama is somehow misusing his ability his inspire people. Is that the case? If so, how exactly is Obama misusing his appeal?
And please show your work. There is extra scratch paper available.
