Associated Press Washington bureau chief Sandy Johnson is stepping down from her position, as first reported on Fishbowl DC.
But I’ve since learned that veteran political reporter Ron Fournier–who’s already taken on a new role this campaign cycle–will be acting bureau chief.
Fournier just confirmed in an e-mail that he will be taking that role while continuing to write. His provocative “On Deadline” column has been a must-read during the presidential race.
Fournier’s “work”
Wherever it lies, Barack Obama better watch his step.
He’s bordering on arrogance.
…Wherever it lies, Barack Obama better watch his step.
He’s bordering on arrogance.
But remember, the media is liberal and in the tank for Obama. Also, look at those flying pigs!

Is Ron one of McRib’s barbecue buddies?
Oh, god. Expect lots more sprinkled donuts for McSame from teh AP.
Ron’s going to have his work cut out for him with AP’s co-called “reporters” like Will Lester, whose “news stories” are so far left, he should just quit AP and start flacking for the DNC right now. One look at his pelican file and you’ll see him writing about every quacky poll that comes out on the left and running 15 column inches on what Debbie Stab-A-Cow has to say, with only a closing sentence from any opposition. Let’s hope Ron can rein in those kind of “reporters.” But I doubt it. AP used to represent one of the most fair news reports out there — not anymore. There’s so much liberal journalism out there, I’d be surprised if anyone writes more than a single source story anymore from the Washington bureau.
