Spider J,

The ad says: "Barack Obama. President."

It's not quite the same as "President McCain" (just typing that makes me sick to my stomach) and now that I look at it again it seems that the Obama campaign is presenting it more like a proposal and less like a certainty.

Anyhow, the important information in this ad is obviously what Obama has to say about the proposed gas tax.

Here it is:

Couldn't get the video to run, but if the transcript is correct, he doesn't even use proper grammar. It's "There are," not "There is." Shouldn't *someone* have caught that before it ran?
Oh, wait. I forgot. Presidents no longer have to be able to manage their native language well enough to be understood. Arrgggghhhh.

Does Obama call himself "President Obama" or does he say "When I am President"?

The latter is typical stuff, akin to the convention announcements of "The next President of the United States..."

The former is ill-advised.

Obama does it too in his new ad. It is an effective tactic to gain the votes of people who don't think.

That is the apex of arrogance, right there. Did anyone tell him about that or does he think he won already?

Heh. I wouldn't be surprised to see whomever emerges from the Democratic muck to take the same tactic. What I find interesting about the ad is that it's visual style looks a lot like what you'd expect for a Defense contractor.
