The right’s demonizing of education knows no bounds. They want everyone to work 90 hours a week at Wal Mart so they don’t have time to be politically active to stop the second gilded age

That said, the other day Hewitt was predicting that McCain had a good chance of winning in a landslide no matter who the Dem nominee is. Given Hewitt’s track record on these kinds of things, expect the exact opposite to happen.
Funny how we celebrate the educational background of some (Condi, the late baseball Commissioner Bart Giamatti, Paul Tagliabue), but call cerebral presidential candidates like Kerry and Obama “elitists”.
Lee Coles: the difference is that people like Condi use their education to dedicate themselves to a life of sucking up to power.
