Dang You, Colin Powell

If you had just shown some cojones and resigned as Sec. of State in the run-up to Iraq you would be an even better advocate for Obama right now.

I still kinda like him. It was shitty what he did, but I still kinda like him. hey here’s one to make the rights heads go all ’splody:

    Obama/Powell ‘08!

    Speakin of going all ’splody.

    From MSNBC.com

WASHINGTON - Republican Sen. John McCain has erased Sen. Barack Obama’s 10-point advantage in a head-to-head matchup, leaving him essentially tied with both Democratic candidates in an Associated Press-Ipsos national poll released Thursday.

If he had resigned the war may never have started. If he had resigned and the war had started, he might have won the White House in 04.

If he had resigned and was interested in running, I might consider voting for him, although it was pointed out last week, he’s only a year younger than McCain. Not surprising I guess, since they are both Vietnam Vets.

    He coulda been a contenda.

Reminding me of this quote, which is probably unfair (some might say it’s perfectly fair.)

You don’t understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let’s face it. It was you, George.

Oh noes! The polls say McCain will win in the election tomorrow! Flee! Flee!

(Oh, the election isn’t until November? Never mind.)

    Spider,

Not disagreeing. But it’s still interesting. Or frustrating or encouraging, depending on your POV.

i used to be with you on this one oliver, but i’ve since come around to think that maybe there’s more to the story.

i believe it’s possible that he knew all along the whole idea was bunk, but that he also knew the neocons were going to go ahead with it no matter what he said.

i suspect he hung around as long as he could to try (and ultimately fail) and keep the whole mess from completely derailing.

the iraq war books i’ve read describe some pretty fierce infighting between state and the DOD in the run up, execution and aftermath of the war.

that’s not to say that i don’t agree that resigning and going public wouldn’t have been the better choice but perhaps he is not the villain he seemed.

but i doubt we’ll ever know. personally i’m just glad he hasn’t come out swinging for mccain.

That would be worrying if McCain had any issues to actually run on.

Dang Powell. Fuk Colin Powell. A black man that aligns himself with the confederate card carrying, anti-minority, stay in your place nigga party can not get his black man’s pass back.

Colin is a coward. He knew what they were doing was wrong and he stayed in his place, pleaded there case and then stayed silent.

If you want to know what type of African would sell a ship of slaves look at a so called black man who calls himself a republican.

The Black Man’s guide to politics.

    Chapter 1

    Never trust a Republican.

    Chapter 2

Never ever ever ever ever trust a black republican.
