Anti-Immigration Attack A Fake (Melanie Bowers)

immigprotest.jpgThe story smelled from the get-go. The little Michelle Malkin got busted.

A 13-year-old girl who claimed she was attacked by a group inside Athens Middle School was caught on a surveillance camera causing the injuries to herself.

The girl now faces disciplinary action from the school and will be charged with filing a false police report, AISD superintendent Fred Hayes said during a news conference today.

The parents of Melanie Bowers have since sent letters of apology to school and law enforcement investigators.

Hayes said officials in investigating the matter saw the tape that caught her scratching herself on the arms and neck. Last week she had claimed the injuries were inflicted by a group of about 20 students who also threatened to sexually assault and kill her.

The girl had participated in a history class project with a “protest” theme. She brought to school a protest sign reading “If you love your country stop illegal immigration.”

She claimed she was attacked because of the sign.

    Priceless!!

Malkin is the first to scoff at any report of a hate crime against a black or gay victim. As she might say: double snort-worthy!

Our modern feminist overlords (and their professors) tell me that women never make false allegations of anything. Not assault, not rape, not domestic violence, not molestation.

    It doesn’t happen Oliver.

You’ll see. I am sure the video has been photoshopped.

    What???

Um, I don’t think this has anything to do with feminism. Please leave us feminists out of it.

    This one isn’t a fake -

The parents of Jamiel Shaw Jr., a high school football star who was gunned down by a reputed gang member just blocks from his home, urged Los Angeles city leaders today to go after criminals who are in the country illegally.

Pedro Espinoza, 19, allegedly shot and killed the 17-year-old Los Angeles High School student on March 2 in the 2100 block of Fifth Avenue, not far from the Shaw family’s Arlington Heights home. According to police, the shooting occurred one day after Espinoza was released from county jail, where he was serving time for assault with a deadly weapon.

U.S. immigration officials believe Espinoza, a member of the 18th Street gang, may have been in the country illegally.

“We have a problem with the system. My son was murdered by someone that was here illegally. No matter how you look at it, that’s what happened,” Jamiel Shaw Sr. told reporters before entering the Los Angeles City Council chamber.

Authorities do not know why Espinoza was not detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement upon his release from the county jail.

I think that what happened was very unfair. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty… 3 Hispanic students were suspended from school before the surveillance tapes were even reviewed. Now that the girl has told the truth all they’re talking about doing to her is giving her alternative school.

From the news reports, it sounds like there really was an incident in the school hallway where a couple of young men took her poster. I believe the suspension stems from those actions.

On the other hand, the young women made up an entirely different story, accusing the young men of assault and threatening rape, and accusing school officials of callous inaction. That story landed in the media–and at frothing wingnut sites. (Maybe “christie” can tell us where she saw it.)

So if Espinoza was here legally, Shaw wouldn’t've died? Is THAT what you’re saying. Well, coming from the same sort of people that think that wedding rings magically ward off rapists, I’m not suprised.

Melanie Bowers was certainly wrong when she exaggerated the hurt that was done to her. However, that would not have happened had not the young Hispanic students “criminally” taken her poster from her person That’s called theft in America.

You’re putting me on, right? The young men take her poster so it’s their fault that young Ms. Bowers made up a beating and a rape threat and claimed her school principal ignored the whole thing?

    Dude!

This is sheer and utter madness….I am a staunch supporter of free speech…my heart went out to this child when I saw the initial report on the “attack”. I know how middle schoolers interact with one another…the person that snatched the poster away from her was more than likely reacting to the taunting Miss Bowers exhibited by even showing them. I’m sure everyone had seen the poster by then. My question is had their been any previous problems between Miss Bowers and any of the other “accused” students. I agree that Miss Bowers should be punished. I appall injustice of any kind. This could have led to the ruin of the accused students lives….Thank God the tape revealed the truth.
