John McCain said in the Petraeus testimony today that Al Qaeda was a “sect of Shi’ites”. Al Qaeda is Sunni.
These are not “gaffes” from John Mccain - who thinks we should stay in Iraq for at least 100 years - he honestly is clueless on these issues and uses his military service as a crutch for just being dumb.
Perhaps if McCain spent 100 years in Iraq he’d start to understand it.

Hey, the last time John McCain went to Iraq he was able to walk around freely in the marketplace, with only minor assistance from a flak jacket and a small regiment of bodyguards! He would no doubt be happy to spend 100 years living in such a paradise!
I don’t know how it is possible for a man in McCain’s position to not know who the fuck Al Qaeda is. How is that possible? How can he possibly be elected? It seems impossible, but then I asked the same kinds of questions in 2004 of the Republican candidate.
That’s like saying that all those molested altar boys were violated by Presbyterian pastors rather than Catholic priests. What a jackass.
Is he dumb or playing dumb because he knows the average American doesn’t understand the difference? As long as he keeps intermingling them, he can have an excuse to go to war with all of them.
I hope Obama evicerates McCain with this in the debates.

I think McCain might think he’s running against Hillary if Obama is the nominee or vice versa. Lieberman can correct him as he erroneously says a woman/blackman is his opponent until he breaks down in confusion and starts referring to his opponent as Uhuru.
