Hillary Clinton’s Spiritual Adivsor Doug Coe And His Curious Admiration For Nazis And Communist Killings

Hillary Clinton on Doug Coe

“[Doug Coe is] a unique presence in Washington: a genuinely loving spiritual mentor and guide to anyone, regardless of party or faith, who wants to deepen his or her relationship with God.”

Doug Coe

“Jesus says, ‘You have to put me before other people, and you have to put me before yourself.’ Hitler, that was the demand of the Nazi Party. You have to put the Nazi Party and its objectives in front of your own life and ahead of other people!”

“I’ve seen pictures of young men in the Red Guard of China, a table laid out like a butcher table, they would bring in this young man’s mother and father, lay her on the table with a basket on the end, he would take an axe and cut her head off.”

“They have to put the purposes of the Red Guard ahead of the mother-father-brother-sister—their own life !”

“That was a covenant. A pledge. That was what Jesus said.”

Hillary Clinton’s connection with Doug Coe

Clinton’s prayer group was part of the Fellowship (or “the Family”), a network of sex-segregated cells of political, business, and military leaders dedicated to “spiritual war” on behalf of Christ, many of them recruited at the Fellowship’s only public event, the annual National Prayer Breakfast. (Aside from the breakfast, the group has “made a fetish of being invisible,” former Republican Senator William Armstrong has said.) The Fellowship believes that the elite win power by the will of God, who uses them for his purposes. Its mission is to help the powerful understand their role in God’s plan.

Clinton declined our requests for an interview about her faith, but in Living History, she describes her first encounter with Fellowship leader Doug Coe at a 1993 lunch with her prayer cell at the Cedars, the Fellowship’s majestic estate on the Potomac. Coe, she writes, “is a unique presence in Washington: a genuinely loving spiritual mentor and guide to anyone, regardless of party or faith, who wants to deepen his or her relationship with God.”

As Hillary Clinton said:

“You don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.”

I would like to see more coverage of ALL the candidates religious ties.
You know, to be fair and all.

Sounds like Hillary does feel like she is entitled - “Its mission is to help the powerful understand their role in God’s plan.” I am slightly concerned about secret groups of the powerful who think they are destined to rule by divine intervention. I agree with the comment above that since Obama has had a public vetting of his church it is fair for the other candidates as well.

This one’s not easy to sell - it was hard for people to imagine the Unification Church & its influence.

The very idea of The Family seems somehow very hard for people to wrap their minds around.

Thank you Oliver. You’re a brave one to even approach this subject.

who the fuck cares what some retarded god botherer says anyway? jesus fucking christ, you have to be fucked up to believe that shit in the first place, of course they’re going to say crazy shit. And why are you even mentioning it, OW? You were rightfully pissed about the Wright thing and now you’re doing it, too.
I don’t trust any Obama supporter anymore, you’re giving this election to john mccain.

We can assume that Doug Coe is white. After all, if he were black then questioning his statements might get Quaker out sniffing around for racists.

    Settle down.

Hillary Clinton is a METHODIST, and she goes to a regular Church.

This is really retarded, even for Obama cultists desperate to “get” Hillary because she brought up Rev. Wright when she was asked a direct question.

    Uh-huh. Okay, Wellstone.

Folks, it’s not Obama and Wright that bothers me, it’s the conscious but undercover seeking of political power by self-appointed religious groups that is the problem. Reverend Wright is very public, makes no bones about his opinions, but does not himself seek political power. The Moonie Church and its leader hold bizarre ceremonies inside the Capitol, attended by people like Congressman Delay (before his resignation) in which Moon is annointed Savior and leader. The Family is so secretive we cannot be sure of its explicit views, but the way it goes about its business, the kind of members it apparently has, and the opinions expressed by its leader are scary. (If we’re going to get into guilt-by-association as we have with Wright and Obama).

We have spent almost 8 years dealing with the results of the excessive religiosity of our current POTUS. Isn’t that enough?

Separation of Church and State and avoiding the conmingling of religion with state power is one of the basic pillars of the American Revolution. Let’s not ignore current attempts to subvert our freedoms.

    What’s a regular church? Isn’t Obama’s church a regular church?

    From Huffpo

Last week, Dean Snyder, the senior minister at the Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington D.C. — which the Clintons famously attended while in the White House — released a little noticed statement offering a sympathetic defense of the totality of Wright’s work.

“The Reverend Jeremiah Wright is an outstanding church leader whom I have heard speak a number of times,” Snyder wrote. “He has served for decades as a profound voice for justice and inclusion in our society. To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence. Dr. Wright, a member of an integrated denomination, has been an agent of racial reconciliation while proclaiming perceptions and truths uncomfortable for some white people to hear. Those of us who are white Americans would do well to listen carefully to Dr. Wright rather than to use a few of his quotes to polarize.”

So can we shut up about Rev. Wright now?

Hi guys: So who’s going to explode this on TV? It’s been on CBC once, in the LA Times, in the New Republic, etc. but hasn’t had the continuous-loop coverage on the news networks. It has to be done by somebody outside Senator Obama’s campaign - BUT it has to be done. What scares me most is this tightening connection between religion and state. The founding fathers realised this danger (coming as they did from England and elsewhere in Europe where there had been widespread religious persecution by the State) and crafted the Consitution to separate religion and State. This is real scary. I’m sure there may be some scare mongering and shades of Da Vinci Code but this association of Hillary Clinton with the sect must be given the coverage it deserves. Why not start a group on facebook, etc?

Don’t you find it a little strange that Hitlery ( yep, I spelled it like that for a reason) didn’t mention Rev. Wright until her Bosnia lie came out? Well? That witch is willing to hand the Presidency to McCain in 08 so she can run again in 2012. I don’t think it’s gonna work so get over it already. It’s a done damn deal.

Instead of worrying about the religious affiliation of the candidate we should concentrate on the candidate’s ability to run our nation which is in a depression that is not going to go away. I am more concerned about how we are going to be able to afford $5 - $7 a gallon for gas (As it is in places in Europe right now), than I am about ANYONE’S religious affiliation. There are people right now who are making choices about buying food or paying their electricity bill due to the price of gas and the effects on our economy that are ongoing….and the greatest concern you have is someone’s affiliation to a radical preacher? Let’s focus people.

    Hi Oliver.

This one kinda blew up in your face, huh? Sorry to do this to ya man:

    ABC News: The Blotter
Like Clinton, Obama Attended “Shadowy” Group’s Prayer Meetings
    April 04, 2008 11:21 AM

    Justin Rood Reports:

Stories on the “stealth” ministry of Douglas Coe have been cropping up recently on blogs and online publications, linking him unfavorably to Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.

Comparing Coe to Obama’s inflammatory pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barbara Ehrenreich wrote at HuffingtonPost.com, “When it comes to unsavory religious affiliations, she’s a lot more vulnerable than Obama.”

But the story may not be so simple. Indeed, as Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign confirmed yesterday, he has also attended Coe’s prayer meetings.

Yes I was reading about Hilary’s Nasty Pastorate. also her involvement with Doug Coe.
I sent them to fox news.
I believe these need as much airing as Rev Wright.
    Called Tit For Tat!!!!!

I bet they don’t air them.

So we’ve got to get some big headlines out there somehow.
This is not fair and balanced.

Any suggestions on how to do it?

    BIG PUBLICITY NEEDED GUYS!!!!!!!
