Expect to see more of this. Lots more. The Republican party, faced with a minority candidate with an unusual name, will be even less able than usual to reign in their natural racist and culturually retarded impulses. If there is a crack about ethnicity, religion, or any derivation from the standard issue GOP robot to be made - they will make it. I hope the McCain campaign is buying Tums for their candidate, in bulk.
An Iowa Republican congressman said Friday that terrorists would be “dancing in the streets” if Democratic candidate Barack Obama were to win the presidency.
Rep. Steve King based his prediction on Obama’s pledge to pull troops out of Iraq, his Kenyan heritage and his middle name, Hussein.
“The radical Islamists, the al-Qaida … would be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on Sept. 11 because they would declare victory in this war on terror,” King said in an interview with the Daily Reporter in Spencer.
The irony is that nobody has done more to help and validate Al Qaeda than George W. Bush, and his anointed follower, John McCain is just more of the same.

What al-Qaeda wants is for America to keep going on destructive foreign escapades. These diminish its power and piss off plenty of folks, giving al-Qaeda plenty of sympathy and forcing America to keep fighting more and more enemies.
Let me put it this way. If McCain wins, al-Qaeda would be pleased as punch. My guess is that neither of the Democrats will start a major foreign folly (US involvement in the Balkans was a minor one — it was destructive and horrific, but was in a part of the world that utterly lacks important resources — and I wouldn’t be surprised if either Clinton or Obama kill a few foreigners in crap like that), though I certainly expect Clinton to keep going in Iraq with the same zeal McCain would, possibly a bit more.

Rigggght. The same George W. Bush that has killed or captured 75% of Al Qaeda’s leadership and has put a stranglehold on their funding.
Of course, this is coming from somebody who thinks that a terrorist attack at a nightclub in Bali is an attack on “the west.”
Oh and Obama has already indicated there’s the possibility, he’d invade Pakistan.

Bwahahaha! There are still some rubes who believe that?
Jay: “Oh and Obama has already indicated there’s the possibility, he’d invade Pakistan.”

Wow, all you have to do is drop a few bombs from 50,000 feet in Jayworld. Life is great on Mars!
The same George Bush that has destroyed US military readiness and strangled and looted the US treasury by wasting every penny spent on Iraq reconstruction? Victory is ours!
“The irony is that nobody has done more to help and validate Al Qaeda than George W. Bush”
“Rigggght.”
Yes, Jay, he is right. Actual experts in the field have said that America’s actions in Iraq have helped create a whole new wave of Al Qaeda recruits. Al Qaeda has regained its strength and is as dangerous as before all thanks to Bush and Co. who were determined to attack Iraq regardless of the facts or the consequences.
Oh and Obama has already indicated there’s the possibility, he’d invade Pakistan.
While I’ll join you in mocking this idea, I’ll give Obama a bit of credit here — he singled out a nuclear-armed nation with an unstable government that is actually threatening to the world, as opposed to, say, Iraq or Iran. It’s still a bad idea, much as threatening to attack Iran is a bad idea.
Didn’t we just have some strikes into Pakistan recently? I have to say I would take Obama’s Pakistan policy over Bush’s. Tie the $1 billion or so we give Pakistan every year to them actually earning it. Of course, Pakistan actually was kind of earning the money a few years ago before we invaded Iraq and the population of Pakistan took an anti-US turn making any military action by Musharraf politically difficult.
CS how many al qaeda attacks have we had in the US since we captured afghanistan and iraq?
Zero is it?
Now you are all weak in the kneess over a widdy-biddy al qaeda? What happened to that big strong leftist that we used to know!
Oh Christ its like a zombie who won’t die.
hi Ollie!
No I have been lurking, enjoying watching you carve up the clintons with exactly the same criticisms that the republicans have used all these years….Irony so thick you could cut it with a knife!
Beautiful

I don’t know why I’m arguing with a 7 year old (as you were obviously not alive during the 90’s), but no, the Republicans hated the Clintons because they’re insane, and used Vincent Foster, Whitewater, and the Lewinsky scandal to try to hide their unbridled anger.

Do I have to bring up the tiger-rock analogy again?

So, if Al-Qaeda’s no threat, then I suppose we can take the troops out of Iraq? What’s that? You want to put our troops in harms way for shits and giggles? Oh Mr. Pedro, why do you hate America so?
Obama needs to smash this bigoted BS down hard right now. His campaign’s silence in the face of these and other attacks can come off as a John Kerry imitation. It looks weak.
This is the Republican focus group vetted Swift Boat approved line of attack. This is how you can piss all over the Democrat and get away with it.
Oh and Obama has already indicated there’s the possibility, he’d invade Pakistan.
Oh, except he never said that.
