Hi Oliver, here’s a link that may give you a bit of pause re: Obama vs. Clinton. And I do realize that none of the candidates are perfect, and it’s rarely the case that we get all of what we want. Still….

TalkLeft: Obama vs. Clinton regarding NASA Budget

Basically Obama plans on deferring the Constellation and cutting NASA’s budget, while Clinton claims to want an ambitious NASA program (hard to know what that really means.)

For me that’s it. I may vote for Obama, but I’m never going to watch him put on Vulcan ears and appear in a Star Trek movie. (I also will NOT watch Clinton put on green makeup and dance either….)

I can see both sides of this issue. While I’m all for a strong NASA and a robust space program, it does us no good if we aren’t making more smart people to run it. 60% of the high school kids in my state can’t find it on a map. It isn’t a bad idea to maybe shelf some of the NASA budget in favor of a smarter country. Otherwise, we end up with people like Tom Arnold on the moon
Not like THAT would be a bad thing…
