John McCain Props Up His Kid’s Private Schools With His Wife’s Millions… And Gets A Tax Credit Out Of It

It’s all about the sham John & Cindy McCain foundation:

Between 2001 and 2006, McCain contributed roughly $950,000 to the foundation. That accounted for all of its listed income other than for $100 that came from an anonymous donor. During that same period, the McCain foundation made contributions of roughly $1.6 million. More than $500,000 went to his kids’ private schools, most of which was donated when his children were attending those institutions. So McCain apparently received major tax deductions for supporting elite schools attended by his children.

You would think the media would report this more and that would kill McCain’s image as a straight talking maverick. Of course, that would mean the media would have to do its job.

I am curious why he didn’t make a direct charitable contribution to the school. It could even be made anonymously.

Instead, he did it through a charitable foundation which is required to list its sources of funds and charitable activities in a public record known as a Form 990.

    This doesn’t make any sense.
