Don’t see what the big deal is.

From the context, she was wrapping up an interview with Oliver North (whom I cannot stand) about the Berkeley City Council’s decision to treat the Marine recruiting office like a porn shop (while giving Code Pink a permanent, free permit to protest right out front) when John McCain gave a statement. They said it was in her e-mail, apparently it wasn’t, so she asked them to give her the info through her earpiece, which she then winged.

Yes, she stumbled a smidgen of her description of McCain, but it was essentially accurate. He’s a veteran, spent time in an “internment camp” (I think that was one of the terms the Vietnamese used), and it’s no great surprise that a Republican combat veteran would be annoyed at this kind of insult and assault on the Marines.

Also, Oliver, nice branding of your URL over the video clip. I wonder about a couple of things, though:

    1) What would Fox’s copyright lawyers say about that?

    2) The video’s time-stamped 2:35 ET. You wouldn’t have happened to use your employer’s resources to put this together, did you?

Nah. That would be wrong. Never mind.

    1. Considering its standard practice, not much I guess.

    2. I’m sure your conspiracy theory is ready for another outing.

    “Yes, she stumbled a smidgen…”

Really? That’s all you have to say? She looked like a tool on live TV.

Coincidentally, Don Henley’s playing right when I I was watching that. (”How Bad Do You Want It”) I think “Dirty Laundry” sums it up rather well…

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who comes on at five
She can tell you bout the plane crash with a gleam In her eye

“2) The video’s time-stamped 2:35 ET. You wouldn’t have happened to use your employer’s resources to put this together, did you?”

Didn’t you claim in the past that you didn’t focus on OW’s job. And why would it be wrong if he was doing this at work?

And why would it be wrong if he was doing this at work?

Mr. Tea is obsessive about how OW spends his days at work. I think he’s somehow trying to make the case that Oliver is part of the Soros-funded, America-hating, international islamostalinist conspiracy.

    Or something.

Fox to news is what KFC is to chicken.

Fine, dump the “I question the timing” bit. I think the rest stands — this is the kind of thing that happens on live TV news. The McCain statement came out during the North interview, they tried to push it out quickly, had a technical glitch, did it as best they could. No. Big. Deal.

Unless, of course, you have a predisposed bent to slam Fox.

And I wasn’t questioning the posting of the clip, but putting your logo on top of their material. That changes the equation a bit as far as copyright goes — from “fair use” to something akin to “theft by conversion.” You might want to run that past a lawyer…

about the Berkeley City Council’s decision to treat the Marine recruiting office like a porn shop

That’s not true at all. Porn shops treat homosexuals like human beings. But then again, I guess the only protests that you think that government officials should approve are cross burnings.

“Fine, dump the “I question the timing” bit.”

Well, at least that’s good for a laugh.

She looked like a tool on national TV. Unless you are really low standards for your on air talent, (i.e. the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde I mentioned above), then this is a problem. People who are intelligent enough to understand the new should be able to recover from a technical glitch better than this.

Forgive me if I think you don’t know what you are talking about here.
