Immigration Fail Again

In the Republican primary. The Republican primary. The hardline position on Immigration yet again fails to help the conservative wing of the party. Now, imagine how much this will hurt in the general? But please, Republicans, listen to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh for the cues on this issue. Remember, if you’re not bashing Hispanics, you’re wasting time!

I don’t understand why you swallow silly rhetoric like that so willingly. Republicans hate brown people? Come on, grow up. If Canadians were coming into the country illegally in huge numbers, then by your logic, Republicans would “hate” white people. But you wouldn’t bother saying that in that case because it wouldn’t have any racial zing to it.

At least be honest, I could respect that - the reality isn’t even close to that and you know it, but “Republicans hate brown people” makes for a good sound bite.

No, that’s true, Haplo. Republicans hate everybody. Look at Malkin, she doesn’t think any of the republican candidates are big enough assholes. And if it were Canadians, we would say republicans hate back bacon lovers.

And Michelle Malkin too! According to her, tax rebates are bad because a few might accidentally go to…(cue spooky music)…illegals!1!

Only if Republicans were as rabid about illegal immigration from Canada, but they aren’t. Just look at the record. Prior to 9/11, the single worst terrorist act on American soil was committed by a white male anti-government conservative, and yet not one single Republican advocated rounding up or monitoring or racially profiling all white males in America. And yet after the 9/11 attack, Republicans have been big proponents of racially profiling Muslims and Middle Eastern Americans. Republican politicians have argued for wire-tapping and video surveillance of all mosques in America.

And of course Canadians enter the country illegally all the time. The 9/11 hijackers entered the country through Canada. And we’re building our fence where? On the Mexican border.
