There are two Mitt Romneys. The Mitt Romney who ran for senate and who was elected governor of Massachusetts, and the Mitt Romney of the last year or so who has recast himself as a conservative who changed his “effectively pro-choice” position in order to curry favor with the conservative vote that determines the Republican nomination. The problem for Current Mitt is that Moderate Mitt left a trail that’s pretty easy to find. Today’s revelation is that as Governor, Romney okayed funds for a Planned Parenthood clinic. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that - it’s frankly a good thing. But it doesn’t reconcile with the rhetoric of the most disingenuous candidate in presidential history.
