Mike Huckabee again insinuates versus Mormonism.
Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks in an upcoming article, ”Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?”
Huckabee’s critique would seem to track with the story told in this animation. I’ve got good reason not to believe the LDS church’s explaining away the issue (the same way I don’t believe a lot of stuff out of the Catholic church, religious officials are deceptive that way) but can anyone objectively point out if this is true or not?
Romney has essentially welcomed these questions by running a campaign in which he carries his God on his sleeve.
Anyone, preachers, priests included ever read THE BOOK OF JOB
CHAPTER 1 VERSE 6
“NOW THERE WAS A DAY WHEN THE SONS OF GOD CAME TO PRESENT THEMSELVES BEFORE THE LORD, AND SATAN CAME ALSO AMONG THEM”
This is not the only time in the Bible Satan and God are mentioned as one. Egyptian Pharaoh did not keep the children of Israel prisoner, it says God hardened Pharaohs heart, read the Bible.
Another thing, the Ten Commandments, you will have no other god, how do you justify a minor evil deity, Satan, with this commandment.
I don’t know squat about this, but I had heard Satan was a fallen angel, making him, if not Jesus’ brother, than at least his second cousin once removed?
I’ve been reading about the translation of the Bible, an LDS member said they believe in the Bible as far as translation goes, well lets see, the ancients, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, etc. probably spoke one of several native languages of Cannon and of course Egyptian. Jesus spoke Aramatic, the first Bibles were in Greek then Latin, then no telling how many forms of ancient English and European dialects. Yeah, there is a possiblity words were misinterpeted. What you should worry about from the LDS, is the belief in a man revered by the LDS, believeing God was a spaceman from another planet, source, Teachings of Presidents of the Church BRINGHAM YOUNG, by the way, free at any LDS church.
You didn’t complete the quotation:
the Ten Commandments, you will have no other god
You shall have no other god BEFORE ME. Jehovah was one of the Elohim, the Canaanite pantheon (Ba’al was another), and he was claiming supremacy within that group, but he was not claiming to be the only god.
wow. reading this thread im more convinced than ever that arguing over religion is about as productive and relevant as arguing over whether star trek is better than star wars.
