Norman Podhoretz: It’s not that the Bush administration lied and was wrong about Iranian nukes, no, the intelligence community is trying to make our man Bush look bad.

Glug, glug, goes the kool-aid.

Why then should we believe it when it now tells us, and with the same “high confidence,” that Iran had already called a halt to its nuclear-weapons program in 2003?”

Sooo… we can’t believe the NIE now, because it differs from what it said before. But we should still believe what it said before, even though it differs from what it says now.

I like the description someone made of this whole thing as “Bush vs Intelligence”.

“Bush vs Intelligence”.

That sort of sums the whole Bush presidency, doesn’t it?
