Barack Obama, Human Being

I’m glad that we’ve gotten past the b.s. associated with doing drugs and whatnot. It’s a big leap in just 15 years, from the furor over President Clinton’s "I did not inhale" comment about marijuana. Maybe this is because the boomers are becoming the senior vote, and a not insignificant amount of them indulged during their teen years.

“You know, I made some bad decisions…. You know, got into drinking and experimenting with drugs. There was a whole stretch of time where I didn’t apply myself. It wasn’t until I got out of … high school, and went to college that I started realizing, man, I wasted a lot of time.

“When I started college, I started noticing, why some places are poor others rich. Why is it that we spend all this money on our military, but we don’t spend it on our schools? Why is it that women aren’t always treated the same as men… a lot of questions that started bubbling up in my mind.

“I realized if I had spent a little more time reading, and studying that I could actually have some influence in the world. So I did a lot of catching up when I got to college. By the time I was a junior and senior, in college I got real serious. In fact, I was so serious my mother told me to lighten up. Fortunately, over time, I got a little balance.”

Mitt Romney, of course, is Captain Perfect and uses this issue to lecture us from on high about being a robot.

“It’s just not a good idea for people running for presoident of the United States who potentially could be the role model for a lot of people to talk about their personal failings while they were kids because it opens the doorway to other kids thinking, ‘well I can do that too,’” Romney told an Iowa audience today.

I think it’s been awhile since a president was a potential role model for anyone, going back to Nixon.

I assume that everyone, and I mean everyone running this year would be guilty of at least one felony charge if you looked at their entire life. Smoking pot is the least of my worries when it comes to deciding who would be the best president.

Boy, he is a great role model. Multiple Mittens has 5 sons who can serve their country better in a Winnebago than putting on a uniform in Iraq. Oh, forgot, Romney never wore one either.
