The congressional Dems are yet again claiming that this time, no really this time, they aren’t going to capitulate to Bush on Iraq.
Either do it or shut up, because your numbers can go lower.

In which I agree with Oliver Willis.
They’ve already lost this battle. The Admin has already announced they are starting to bring the troops home. Even though they are sending more over. They will just send someone up to the hill and claim this is already being done. Give us the the money punks.
Pelosi is the worst. If she really wanted to bring the troops home all she had to do was impeach Bush and Cheney. that would make her the fkin President.
But Impeachment is off the table.
We’ve been hoodwinked.
Check her contacts.
If it was only possible to punch an entire political party.
War funding is a non-issue. It is politically impossible for Democrats to cut funds while troops are in the field–the GOP slime machine will crucify them if they do anything like that. And it will doom our chances to re-take the White House. I have long advocated that Dems say “We will fund the Republican War in Iraq because our troops deserve the best we can give them. We believe the war is wrong, but we won’t tie the troops hands.” Or something like that.
Reid could want make a principled stand on almost any other topic and succeed, if only they would actually stand up!
Instead we get the chronic vision of Dems taking a stand and then apologizing for that stand! You can’t win like that, any more than the unlamented Sen. Kerry could win with the battlecry “Bush misled you!”
