Michele Cossey Is The Worst Mother Of The Year

You gotta be kidding me. You gotta.

The mother of a 14-year-old boy accused of planning a “Columbine-type” event at a high school was arrested Friday morning, prosecutors said.

Michele Cossey, 46, of Plymouth Meeting was charged with six criminal counts in connection with buying her son firearms and bomb-making equipment, including a .22-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a 9mm semiautomatic rifle.

The charges are unlawful transfer of a fiream, possession of a firearm by a minor, corruption of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of reckless endangerment.

A search of the boy’s home Wednesday outside Philadelphia turned up the rifle, about 30 air-powered guns, swords, knives, a bomb-making book and videos of the 1999 Columbine High School attack.

Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor Jr. said the weapons were plainly visible in the boy’s bedroom.

hate to generalize too much about home-schooling but you really should have to pass some competency test to be able to keep your kids home.

interesting that his home-schooling’s not mentioned in this article, but it does mention that he’s a social outcast.

Perhaps its not mentioned that he’s home schooled because it has nothing to do with anything. Any parent that sends his kid to school so that the kid learns socialization skills is a pathetic parent.

The question is, was the kid planning to shoot himself afterward, or not? Without this information, John Gibson won’t be able to tell whether the boy is black or white.

    Presented without (much) comment:

When this story broke yesterday, Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr. held a press conference in which he downplayed the likelihood of a Columbine-type massacre because no bullets were found with the guns and grenades. Today, I cannot find a link to Castor’s remarks.

Castor, along with Jim Matthews (brother of Chris), is in a heated election campaign for the office of Montgomery County Commissioner. Matthews is an incumbent. Running against them on the Democratic ticket are former U.S. Congressman Joe Hoeffel and incumbent Ruth Damsker.

The Commissioners’ race has drawn national attention as the best chance for the Democrats to win the Court House in Montgomery County history. The top 3 vote-getters become Commissioners, so it’ll be 2 of one party and 1 of the other. A Democratic Court House would be a sea change.

Earlier this week, Montgomery County Jury Commissioner Joanne Olszewski resigned and was subsequently arrested by Castor’s office for gambling and criminal conspiracy. Olszewski had previously stepped down as co-chairwoman of the campaign committee for Damsker and Hoeffel.

    From http://tinyurl.com/355hf4:

“Details of the investigation into Olszewski were leaked to the media and eventually announced at a news conference before charges were filed. [Montgomery County Democratic Committee Chairman Marcel Groen] said a Web site run by Castor and . . . Matthews posted a link to the leaked story before the public announcement was made.”

On Wednesday, the 4 candidates for Commissioner debated on a local AM station. It wasn’t pretty.

    From http://www.philly.com/philly/news/local/10410207.html:

“The four candidates for Montgomery County Board of Commissioners verbally brawled during a live radio debate on WNPV-AM yesterday, trading accusations of cronyism, hypocrisy, stupidity and abuse of power.

    And it didn’t stop there.

Democrat Joe Hoeffel, a former commissioner and congressman, and Republican District Attorney Bruce L. Castor continued part of the argument afterward with a toe-to-toe shouting match in the lobby of the Lansdale radio station.

‘You violated judicial process to save your political neck,’ Hoeffel said, accusing Castor of ‘bully-boy tactics’ in leaking news that an illegal video-poker machine had been seized from the bar of a Democratic county official in a broader investigation Oct. 2.

‘Your campaign stinks of hypocrisy,’ Castor said. He said he never disclosed the identity of the official, adding, “’he outed herself’ when news of the raids came to light.

This vein-popping exchange was over the case of Jury Commissioner Joan Cisco Olszewski, owner of Cisco’s Bar & Grille in Flourtown. She resigned the post yesterday, saying in a statement she had been told she was to be criminally charged in the case as early as today.”

It’s a circus here in the ‘burbs.

“Castor has said he does not believe and [sic] attack was imminent or would occur at all. He said Friday that the teen was intelligent, but had a ‘disturbed mind.’”

Any parent that sends his kid to school so that the kid learns socialization skills is a pathetic parent.

Well, yeah, because that should really be done in by the end of preschool.

Hey Jay, why do you bother talking? It’s obvious you are too stupid to say anything useful.

“Perhaps its not mentioned that he’s home schooled because it has nothing to do with anything.”

Really? He was planning a Columbine like attack, and he was home schooled. Isn’t the fact that he was home schooled relevant to the fact he was targeting a school?

“Any parent that sends his kid to school so that the kid learns socialization skills is a pathetic parent.”

What could be better to learn socialization skills that be immersed in a social environment? If you want to learn a second language, it is best to immerse yourself in that language. That’s why in Canada we have French Immersion schools.

We are social animals. Not socializing is dangerous to a mental health.

I do wonder how Jay thinks children should be socialized with other children in the absence of a school. But perhaps he meant only that a parent who sends a child to school for the “sole” purpose of being socialized is a pathetic parent.

More brilliant insight the resident Canuck.

Really? He was planning a Columbine like attack, and he was home schooled. Isn’t the fact that he was home schooled relevant to the fact he was targeting a school?

    Uh, no.

What could be better to learn socialization skills that be immersed in a social environment? If you want to learn a second language, it is best to immerse yourself in that language.

The implication that I’ve often heard about home-schooled students (and it seems to me that’s the implication jrcjr is making) is they’re going to be socially ‘retarded’ because they’re not interacting with other students on a daily basis. They conveniently ignore the fact that many home schooled kids take part in a bunch of activities where they’re able to develop socialization skills and also must rely heavily on their parents influence in that regard as well.

If Columbine taught us anything is that kids who are immersed in school every day can still be social outcasts.

According to what I have read, the kid was bullied constantly which is why he was home schooled. His father did time for manslaughter and his parents aren’t going to win any awards trying to make their son happy by buying him weapons.

Me: “Really? He was planning a Columbine like attack, and he was home schooled. Isn’t the fact that he was home schooled relevant to the fact he was targeting a school?”

    Jay: “Uh, no.”

Wow. What amazing debating skills you have. I guess when you are as smart as you think you are no reasons are needed. Just say, “No.”

“The implication that I’ve often heard about home-schooled students (and it seems to me that’s the implication jrcjr is making) is they’re going to be socially ‘retarded’ because they’re not interacting with other students on a daily basis.”

And many home-schooled kids are social outcasts by choice. They are not in school because the parents don’t want their kids interacting with the outside world. These kids may have social interactions, but they are not well adjusted. My mom used to deal with them all the time.

“If Columbine taught us anything is that kids who are immersed in school every day can still be social outcasts.”

And if the Challenger explosion taught us anything, it’s that’s heavier than air flight is too dangerous and must be banned.

    Fallacy of the vivid example.

“According to what I have read, the kid was bullied constantly which is why he was home schooled.”

Which is why he planned the attack, which makes it relevant.

You asked a yes or no question! Don’t get your panties in a bunch because I answered in a such a way. If you believe it to be relevant, than explain why.

And many home-schooled kids are social outcasts by choice. They are not in school because the parents don’t want their kids interacting with the outside world.

Do you have any verifiable evidence of this? And your Mommy doesn’t count.

And if the Challenger explosion taught us anything, it’s that’s heavier than air flight is too dangerous and must be banned.

Good Lord that is stupid. I’m not the one engaging in fallacies. Note what I said more clearly:

If Columbine taught us anything is that kids who are immersed in school every day CAN STILL BE social outcasts.

The only ones engaging in fallacious are those who are saying:

    A. This kid planned a Columbine style attack
    B. This kid was home schooled
    C. Therefore, this kid planned the attack because he was home schooled.

Which is why he planned the attack, which makes it relevant.

No jackass. He planned the attack because he was bullied, not because he was home schooled.

Jay: “You asked a yes or no question! Don’t get your panties in a bunch because I answered in a such a way.”

    The why part was implied.

Jay: “If you believe it to be relevant, than explain why.”

    I did, you illiterate moron.

“Do you have any verifiable evidence of this? And your Mommy doesn’t count.”

I gave the information. If you are too scared to deal with it, that’s your problem.

Good god, you are fucking stupid, aren’t you?

Jay: “Good Lord that is stupid. I’m not the one engaging in fallacies.”

You are attacking a claim no one made. We are saying that the fact that he was home schooled, because he was bullied so much, is relevant.

Now admit you were wrong, or fuck off.

Do you have any verifiable evidence of this?

If only Jay were as demanding of the president during invasions of other countries based on misinformation and lies as he is of some stranger on an internet blog.

    I gave the information.

You didn’t give ‘information.’ You gave anecdotes.

We are saying that the fact that he was home schooled, because he was bullied so much, is relevant.

    Asshole. I wrote:

According to what I have read, the kid was bullied constantly which is why he was home schooled.

    To which you responded:

Which is why he planned the attack, which makes it relevant.

You claim, RIGHT THERE that the reason he planned the attack is because he was home schooled. I responded by saying he planned the attack because he was bullied. His home schooling had NOTHING to do with why he planned the attack. Therefore, it is irrelevant.

Man, you are a FUCKING STOOGE.

Good night stupid. I have better things to do with my time than argue with retards.

Jay: You claim, RIGHT THERE that the reason he planned the attack is because he was home schooled.”

Wow. Just wow. You are so goddamned stupid I don’t know where to begin. It’s just stunning. It’s just so fucking amazing you can be this stupid and not accidentally kill yourself. It is just so predictable that you can be this fucking stupid and be a conservative.

He planned the attack because he was bullied so much he had to be home schooled.

Now please, shut the fuck up and never come here again until you’ve learned to read.
