Looking at the numbers as they stand with recent trends, Thompson can’t win but he can spoil it for Giuliani.
If he can keep Giuliani in third place in Iowa and prevent him from winning in South Carolina, then Giuliani is dead and Romney will win.
I expect the Religious Right will explode over that news and they could flea the party to punish the GOP, at least for 2008.
