Does Clarence Thomas Feel Guilty About His Sexual Harassment Of Anita Hill?

Interesting letter from a NY Times reader:

When I watched Justice Clarence Thomas on “60 Minutes,” I was quite moved by his life story. Nonetheless, I simply could not understand why the man is still so bitter after having spent 16 years on the Supreme Court.

Anita Hill, in contrast, appears to have moved on both from her “60 Minutes” appearance and in her reasoned rebuttal (Op-Ed, Oct. 2). If Justice Thomas persists in playing the part of a perpetual victim, one might justly wonder whether he continues to be racked by guilt.

There’s a big difference between the persona of, say, the rabidly gay anti-gay rights activists. They are racked by guilt which is why they act out so violently against “sin”.

Clarence Thomas is something else. He feels no guilt at all because he views himself as the ultimate victim. He is a victim of affirmative action, that got him into Harvard and led him down the road to the Supreme Court. He is a victim of Anita Hill, dragged into the spotlight as she was because he made crude sexual jokes around her. He is a victim of the liberal media. Of black people who regard him as an Uncle Tom.

He is a perpetual victim. Why should HE feel guilty?

Correction: Thomas went to Yale, not Harvard. My bad.

It’s because Clarence is a loser.

So Oliver, you know for a fact that Anita Hill’s allegations are true?

That’s funny because I’ve never seen anything conclusive on the issue. It’s one thing to give somebody the benefit of the doubt, but I am guessing that you believe Anita Hill because Clarence Thomas is conservative. True?

Wow. That’s some grade-A hypocrisy right there.

You cannot feel guilt if you possess no shame.
