GOP 2008: More Of The Same

The Republican party is torn between the American people, who seek to move away from the Bush years as soon as possible, and the Republican base who is deluded beyond reason about the leadership skills of President Bush and the utility of the war in Iraq. As such, they’re floating names like Tommy Franks for a vice presidential position. Franks, you will remember, was one of the architects of the failing Iraq strategy - one of the generals who abdicated his duty and instead told the leadership what they wanted to learn to in exchange for American security and lives. The Republican party in 2008 is the same old crap we’ve had for the last 7 years. They’ve just changed the names.

I have to give Franks a little credit. He was right about one thing:

Page 281: On Douglas Feith, the Pentagon’s undersecretary for policy: “I have to deal with the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth almost every day.”

    Tommy Franks?

Sure look at the screaming successes he’s had in Iraq.

Anything that he Republicans do to draw attention to the Iraq war, ….er Bush’s war is good …..for Democrats.

Unless the next Republican candidate for President calls for impeachment of the Bush Administration or …..they will not get elected.

Any independent voter, and the independent voter is key, can see the folly of Bush’s war and the lies that were used and the constitution that has been abused.

Democrats need to nominate not just the next President but the President after. A well reasoned TEAM could carry the office for four terms.

I’m with Osama and Castro, a Clinton/Obama ticket could move this country forward for the next 16 years.

In fact I have donated to the Obama campaign and he is my first choice, but I can see the inevitable nomination of Hillary.

I see Clinton/Obama as a glass half full.

    You misspelled “hear”.

Conservatives don’t want to learn anything because it’s what liberals do.
