George Bush’s Weird Reasoning For Staying In Iraq

In a speech being promoted by the RNC’s official network, Fox News Channel, Bush is claiming that the reason we should stay in Iraq is because Osama Bin Laden thinks we should in order for a winner to be declared. In other words, American policy isn’t being dictated by any actual facts or by American objectives, but by Osama Bin Laden - a man who killed 3,000 Americans.

Real leadership we got here.

If we are to believe Bush’s crazy logic, then it would follow that we could get out of Iraq by attacking and either killing or capturing Osama Bin Laden at his hideout, thousands of miles away from Iraq.

Another thought, again acting on the premise of Bush’s crazy logic, Have the Iraqi’s been consulted and have they agreed to allow their country to be the battlefield for a war that does not concern them?

    Shorter Bush:

    This isn’t war, it’s PERSONAL!

Well it does fit into the neo-con/Bush administration concept that by destabilizing Iraq, they’ve created the best environment for creating more terrorists & Al Q. members. See, they’ve fulfilled their claims of 2003. (ok, so there wasn’t an Al Q. in Iraq as they claimed then, but heck, there is now, so shouldn’t we just all accept their spins?)

I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy freak or anything, but I still think there is some connection within the families. George H.W. Bush had business ties with the Osama’s father for years. To say nothing of the close relationship the whole Bush family has with the Saudi royal family. I don’t think it is a coincidence that we haven’t found him yet.
    I really don’t.

Thats sad Duros. Hope you feel better. There’s a whole real world out there to enjoy.

Unless you’re an Iraqi. One million Iraqi dead, two million Iraqi refugees, all thanks to the liar-in-chief and cheerleaders like you.

Oh yes, cuz it’s all puppies and sausages in your world, ain’t it, Dugger? Unless you live in L.A.

However, I do appreciate your concern.

    I really don’t.

I believe it has less to do with corperate ties, and more to do with keeping Osama alive to act as a boogyman. After all, he said that he wasn’t concerned abous Osama.

And to The Cowardly Duggs, talk to us about the “real world” when you get there.

“If you miss something in the dark, don’t search it in some other place because of there is light.” If you really want to catch/kill Laden, first you should know where he is. Don’t kill innocent public on the basis of your speculation…

Yes ladies and gentlemen, step right up! See it for yourself! (Not so close, son.) We now have two Osama conspiracy truthers among our regulars.

I don’t consider myself a “truther” (a stupider appellation I cannot ponder), but it just makes me wonder. Why doesn’t it make you wonder, Dugger? Why can’t we catch this guy? Why aren’t we being more diligent in our pursuit? What are we afraid of?

  14. Gravatar Icon 14 Dugger

    duros

I consider a truther as someone who believes something patently stupid - usually a conspiracy involving some nefariousness on the part of evil conservative Republicans or just Americans. I consider the thought that we get OBL wnenever we want to and choose not to for some sinister Bush-o-phobic reason - a classic case of trutherness.

And I really think it all gets back to having incredibly inflexible political and ideological beliefs, no understanding of people, little real world experience and perhaps a large dash of self-hate.

And I have to think: you believe that and will argue with me about anthropogenic global warming. Makes me feel better about my position there.

Where the fuck did you pick that up, Projections “R” Us?

But, yeah, I’m just being paranoid…

But even if you believe the conspiracy theories that Carlyle luminaries are pulling strings on the company’s behalf, there is evidence they haven’t been very good at it lately. The current Bush administration has sloughed off advice from Baker calling for restraint in the Middle East, where Carlyle has investors, and from former president Bush on the need for calm on the Korean peninsula, where Carlyle owns banks. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld even canceled the $11 billion Crusader howitzer program, a crucial contract for the Carlyle-owned United Defense company.

    And a self-hater.

Former President George H. W. Bush meets with the bin Laden family on behalf of the Carlyle Group. He had also met with them in November 1998 (see November 1998), but it is not known if he meets with them again after this. Bush denies this meeting took place until a thank you note is found confirming that it took place. [Wall Street Journal, 9/27/2001; Guardian, 10/31/2001]

Oh and I have no understaing of people.

When President George W. Bush froze assets connected to Osama bin Laden, he didn’t tell the American people that the terrorist mastermind’s late brother was an investor in the president’s former oil business in Texas. He also hasn’t leveled with the American public about his financial connections to a host of shady Saudi characters involved in drug cartels, gun smuggling, and terrorist networks.

Doing business with the enemy is nothing new to the Bush family. Much of the Bush family wealth came from supplying needed raw materials and credit to Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich. Several business operations managed by Prescott Bush - the president’s grandfather - were seized by the US government during World War II under the Trading with the Enemy Act.

On October 20, 1942, the federal government seized the Union Banking Corporation in New York City as a front operation for the Nazis. Prescott Bush was a director. Bush, E. Roland Harriman, two Bush associates, and three Nazi executives owned the bank’s shares. Eight days later, the Roosevelt administration seized two other corporations managed by Prescott Bush. The Holland-American Trading Corporation and the Seamless Steel Equipment Corporation, both managed by the Bush-Harriman bank, were accused by the US federal government of being front organizations for Hitler’s Third Reich. Again, on November 8, 1942, the federal government seized Nazi-controlled assets of Silesian-American Corporation, another Bush-Harriman company doing business with Hitler.

Godwin’s Law be damned. Dealing with terror organizations is clearly an old family tradition.

Poor duros. My time is limited. Just take one item. ex Pres Bush meets with Bin Laden family on behalf of Carlyle? Really? Are you aware of who Carlyle is? Are you aware that Carlyle has many investors, just one of whom was a member of the family. That that member attended the same big meeting as the ex Pres. That Carlyle includes numrous Clintonians and Carterites as well as James Baker and others. May we assume that all of these people are in on your mind-blowing conspiracy or is it only the Bush family or just Republicans? Are you in on the save ‘OBL conspiracy’ if you belong to Carlyle?

Isn’t it funny how half the left hates Bush because they think he hates people of Mideastern origin/members of Islam and the other half of the left hates him because they are sure he is conspiring with those very same people. That Bush family sure gets around.

  18. Gravatar Icon 18 Duros62

Well, yes, Duggs, that is a puzzlement. Though logic doesn’t seem to be Our Leader’s strong suit.

Bush is claiming that the reason we should stay in Iraq is because Osama Bin Laden thinks we should…

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 midderpidge

Still waiting on that list of Iraq WMD claims that turned out to be true Duggy. I guess you are a Bush didn’t lied truther. And a War is going well truther.

And I have to think: you believe that and will argue with me about anthropogenic global warming. Makes me feel better about my position there.

Speaking of which, you still never answered my question about it. Rather, you ran away with your tail between your legs.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, step right up! See it for yourself! (Not so close, son.) We now have two Osama conspiracy truthers among our regulars.

Ok, then riddle me this, Batman. Why DID Bush admit that he wasn’t concerned about Osama. Seems to me that catching him isn’t that high on his priority list. Now, if the failure to catch Osama was due to gross incompetence, I wouldn’t be suprised in the least. After all, we should take both sides of the arguement into account.

    Look! Over there!

  22. Gravatar Icon 22 Dugger

Nevertheless Duros you are a person who at once believes the Bush family is in cahoots with OBL and predominant man made global warming. That heightens my comfort factor on both.

BTW, are Carter and Clinton in on it? You can tell me. I’ll keep it all hush hush. Mums de woid.
