Mitt Romney Spent $300 On Makeup!

Oh he’s pretty. He’s oh so pretty.

Well, “communications consulting” is how presidential candidate Mitt Romney recorded $300 in payments to a California company that describes itself as “a mobile beauty team for hair, makeup and men’s grooming and spa services.”

Romney spokesman Kevin Madden confirmed that the payments — actually two separate $150 charges — were for makeup, though he said the former Massachusetts governor had only one session with Hidden Beauty of West Hills, Calif. That was before the May 3 Republican presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif., co-sponsored by MSNBC and The Politico.

“I’d call Mitt Romney a Fag, but therapy didn’t work the first 25 times I tried it. Besides, Mitt is so good at fooling those Libruls with all of his convenient lies that I just have to vote for him”!

Another stupid article. What a stretch it is for so many people to find something wrong with Romney. Give it up. Oh wait I think I heard he forgot to put laundry soap in the washing machine last week. That would be about as significant as this. In fact his haircut is worth 300 times more than your article.

    Hello Romneybot 3000.

A little noticed design flaw in winger-bots is their inability to raise their heads. If they could, they might notice all those points they’ve been missing.

So…you’re saying that you have no sense of irony what-so-ever, is THAT your argument?

$300!!? Is that all he paid? Piker Republicans! The Dems got all the money. That wouldn’t even cover the tip to John Edward’s hairdresser (registered RNC talking point 3206).

So he was at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library getting a $150 makeup job so he could appear presidential on TV.

    Somehow, that seems appropriate.

Do they have actual presidential stuff at this “library” or is it like a day spa?

“Do they have actual presidential stuff at this “library” or is it like a day spa?”

Given the less than robust continuity of ‘Ol Dutch during last few years of his presidency (especially during Iran Contra), it would come as no suprise if they had a Lenin’s Tomb Makeup Wing there.

This all reminds me of one of Hank Hill’s best lines: “If Ronald Reagan dyed his hair — and I’m not sayin’ he did — it was only to show his strength to the Communists.”

Player please! everyone politician since the Nixon-Kennedy debate has worn make-up during TV debates. The fact that anyone even brings this up proves how little you actually know about politics.

Oliver, the rampant stupidity of some of your commenters is killing me. Just thought you should know.

    Neimsters,

I think the point is not that he does wear make-up, but that he (and the other repubs) made political hay out of John Edward’s expensive haircuts. Its hypocracy.

I was listening to Fox yesterday on Sirius. They’re still talking about the cost of Edwards’ hair-do. They didn’t say a word about Romney’s make-up, though.

If people are going to whine and moan about how much the male presidential candidates spend to look good on camera, I’d like to know how much Hillary spends on hair and make-up. It must cost a small fortune to cover up that crypt-keeper mug of hers.

It’s only hypocracy if you’re railing on about poverty & injustice while spending $1200 a shot on grooming. And last I checked, Romney wasn’t planning to raise my taxes because he doesn’t think we’re spending enough on poverty. Though if you have any updates to that, I’m all ears.

He should have gone to my guy: half off the top for teh gay and metrosexuals get off a lot too.

    Welcome to my shop
    Let me cut your mop
    Let me shave your crop
    Daintily, daintily
    Hey you!
    Don’t look so perplexed
    Why must you be vexed
    Can’t you see you’re next?
    Yes! You’re next
    You’rrrre so next!

Exactly! Just like people who evade active military duty then advocate war or multi-millionaires who preach tax cuts for their own benefit. It’s as if they’ll never get rich without government assitance! The hypocracy never ends!

Hehe. Glenn Greenwald is spying on you Oliver.

That said, these stories are incredibly stupid, as Glenn points out. But it’s not like wing-nuts are going to stop being petty any time soon, so IMO, let Pretty Boy Mitt have it.

Don’t be so coy, we all know what the whole “$300 haircut” thing was really about.
