I think your response is slightly miscalibrated. We’ve had reports today that Al Qaeda is back up to their 2001 strength (as Wes Clark would say, “Blame Iraq”), and there were reports last week that “chatter” is also at 2001 levels. It was about this time and with these sorts of reports in 2001 that John Ashcroft stopped taking public flights.

Now, all of this may be bullshit, but the response is to ask as Richard Clarke suggested Clinton would have done, “What is Bush and Chertoff doing to Shake the Trees?”

This is great news for President Bush!
Just think, if we get attacked again, like on 9-11 or worse, America will rally around us Repubs and we’ll win every election in 2008!
All we need is a big terrorist attack and we’re saved!
Democrats better hope we don’t get hit, because if we do, there will be a permanant Repub majority.
After the attack we can give up even more of our Constitutionally guarenteed liberties too! I know I would! Americans don’t mind giving up their freedom and liberty just so long as us Repubs promise to keep ‘em alive. You don’t have liberties if you’re dead!
