I hate having to do this every once in a while, but I don’t think folks are getting it yet. Send me links. Not for a little while, but constantly. Send me links. I read a lot of stuff, but I can’t read everything. I want to share the bit of traffic I’ve got with others and back and forth and so on. Liberal bloggers do not link out enough, and I want to fix that. Send me links.

Not specific links, but interesting blogs….
I’ve been reading Wendy Kaminer, an ACLU “free speech” feminist, over at http://thephoenix.com/TheFreeForAll/
As a “free speech” ACLU feminist, she has a different take on a lot of feminist and liberal issues, as does her blog partner, Harvey Silverglate.
I’ve also been reading Dani Rodrik, a fair trade economist whose posts are often way over my head…. But interesting.
http://rodrik.typepad.com/dani_rodriks_weblog/
And I heartily recommend Glenn Sacks. Glenn takes up issues concerning divorced fathers (may you never go through that), primarily fighting for a rebuttable presumption of joint shared custody. (Did you know that was what NOW originally supported, but now they lobby against joint shared custody.) He has been wrongly described as a right wingnut, but I think if you read his posts you will find him liberal and moderate. I think you will also find him fair and intellectually honest. He footnotes almost everything, and he acknowledges the good achievements of feminism as well as their bad, as well as acknowledging the sometime crazed behaviors of other fathers rights activists.
I think all three of these blogs have important information and messages for progressive liberals, and could use the occasional link.
On a different note, here’s an interesting post from Space.com regarding the new much more efficient and much less polluting engines to be used in the 787 (which rolls out on 7/8/07.)
Engines for the New Jets

I write my own blog with some political coverage, mostly personal opinion.
Hi Oliver,
I’m a regular reader and infrequent commenter. I do a local politics blog in PA that occasionally touches on national issues. You may be interested in a few of my recent posts about Mitt Romney abusing his dog and what Lou Barletta is up to when he’s not busy stirring up the rabble against immigrants. Thanks for asking.

I really like that Clark and Michael show with the kid from Arrested Development.

Also I like the fact that 54% of Americans think Cheney should be impeached, and that 45% think Bush should be. I wonder how many thought Clinton should be? I think it was around 35%.

o.k.
There is this bogus story, about “violent lesbo street gangs” that Bill O’Reilly was putting out on the airwaves recently.
It made me think of this very funny Monty Python skit. BTW, I already included this link in one of my comments at Shakesville.
My apologies to those people with dial-up.

D’oh!
Sorry for the double post.
Since you asked….
Free State Politics could really use some coverage. The fellow running it, Isaac Smith, has a strong work ethic but he needs some Maryland people to feed the site more content, guy’s in grad school, got a day job, busts his butt.
Isaac’s all about inflicting the Big Hurt on the Republicans and conservative whackjob. FSP is part of the 50-state “SoapBlox” infrastructure.
My own site Crablaw might very occasionally have something of interest to you or your readers maybe on legal issues or transit issues in MD/DC but Free State Politics is really where it’s at. Oh yeah, FSP is a BIG supporter of Donna Edwards taking out the trash on Albert Wynn.

Love your show Oliver.
Do me a favor and pound the pulpit on this: presidential apologists should never, repeat never be allowed by anyone (other than Fox News) to say “Clinton did it too”. Unless it is absolutely relevant to the point, allowing these dishonest finger-pointing shills to use this as their primary argument is a disgrace for all of us who allow it to continue uncontested. We all owe it to our need for civil discourse and rational discussion to put an end to the “you did it too” syndrome. Thanks.

Oliver,
I think that your readers might be interested in my blog, I write about Race, Politics and Hip-hop (mostly in that order) but like you I have an affinity for Superman which comes out occasionally.
Here’s the url: http://halfricanrevolution.blogspot.com/
Just to answer questions you might have about my url, yes I am mixed, and my url is inspired by that Media Matters post about that KSFO host and Obama that was done a while back.
FWIW, I visit not because you’re a news aggregator — plenty of those types of pages around now which didn’t used to be the case 4 yrs ago — but for your POV. Even if there’s an umbrella of “political blog”, I don’t expect (or want) all the usual blogs to cover all the same stories all the time and kind of coalesce, even casually, towards a unibrain consensus on things.
I like seeing the Krytonite to Stupid in action.
Hi Oliver,
Here’s an interesting story from my blog that hasn’t gotten a lot of play on the MSM.
http://nutsanddicks.blogspot.com/2007/07/what-really-ended-pacific-war.html
1) Japanese defense minister resigns after saying that the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki “ended the war.” Robert Joseph, the American special envoy for nuclear nonproliferation, added fuel to the fire by saying “I think most historians would agree that the use of an atomic bomb brought to a close a war that would have cost millions more lives, not just hundreds of thousands of Allied lives but literally millions of Japanese lives.”
2) A new study titled “The Winning Weapon?” in the journal International Security (published by the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University) , makes the case that the Soviet decision to enter the Pacific war was the true reason that Japan surrendered and goes also takes a look at the military usefullness of nuclear weapons in light of these findings.
Thanks!
