The Politico Is A Republican Mouthpiece

And it’s designed to get hits from Matt Drudge. I don’t know why people keep pretending otherwise.

So, apparently, he didn’t say it? But what if he were to say it? How upset would the public be? Would it be an accurate thing to say?

Ha Ha Ha!!! How’s that crow taste?

I ask again…what if he were to say it? How upset would the public be? Would it be an accurate thing to say?

Oliver, this is twice now you linked to blog entries supposedly ‘debunking’ that Reid said this. Well, he did say it. He admits he said it, but there’s no retraction from you as of yet.

    Why not?

Reality is an inconvenient truth. Eh, gracious host?

Bless ‘em, it’s not often they get to say things like that.

Yeah, so it turns out the Politico was factually right about this thing which doesn’t matter.* That doesn’t mean they weren’t pumping up the talking points. I mean, the sneer is right there in the initial screenshot from the first time Oliver linked to TPM.

*unless there’s some new law I haven’t heard about which says the Joint Chiefs of Staff are exempt from any and all criticism from anyone (except Jesus El Savior Bush presumably)

    this thing which doesn’t matter.

That excuse didn’t fly when Trent Lott tried to describe his boilerplate platitudes given at an old friend’s birthday party and it shouldn’t fly now. But it will. Because Democratics see nothing wrong with slandering troops.

Petreus is incompetent (so its not slander) and he’s not “troops”, he’s a commander. Other than that farris is right.

Whether it ‘matters’ or not is irrelevant. Oliver twice linked to pieces accusing The Politico of just making it up and he concurs with that viewpoint.

    He was wrong.

If he had some balls, he’d at the very least, issue a correction.

Wait, it’s not relevant that it’s not relevant? And calling the MNFI commander and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff “incompetent”, with some justification on both sides, is exactly the same as tacitly defending and supporting segregation?

Of course you’re right that it’d be nice for Oliver to acknowledge the obvious at this point, but whatever.

Wait a second, I thought Harry Reid was irrelevant?

The ultimate owner of The Politico was a close personal friend of Augusto Pinochet.

Given this fact, The Politico will never write critically of torture.
