Joe Lieberman Asked To Resign By His Own Party

Bwahahahaha!.

The Connecticut for Lieberman Party is calling on Senator Joseph Lieberman to resign from the U.S. Senate following his remarks made Sunday on CBS’ Face the Nation regarding military action against Iran.

Lieberman said on the national television program that, “we’ve got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians.”

The Connecticut for Lieberman Chair, Dr. John Orman, called for Lieberman’s resignation saying that he “crossed the line” and “no longer represents the views of the citizens of Connecticut.”

Orman, a longtime critic of Lieberman, took control of the minority party back in January.

Oh, that’s a little disingenuous: it’s only Holy Joe’s “own party” if it’s controlled by Rove.

I was pretty relieved to see Wes Clark’s strong response to Joe Lieberman. We may have the means to deliver a military response to Iran. We may even have the justification. That doesn’t mean we have to open our mouths and start threatening. Doing so only accelerates the race toward a military solution. Who in hell’s kitchen does this guy represent?

Holey Joe represents himself mostly, with some leaning towards Israel. US of A he couldn’t care less about.

    Holey Joe represents himself mostly,…

What?! He doesn’t even put his party first? Oh, that just ain’t right.

The Connecticut for Lieberman Party? Who knew we now have a true 3 party system.

The only chance there is of this guy giving up his seat is if Bush appoints him as Veep if Cheney somehow was outed.

How’s that Middle East Marshall Plan coming along? Sometimes you just gotta raze a country to build a country!

Orman, a longtime critic of Lieberman, took control of the minority party back in January.

I don’t get this. Why would someone who was critical of Lieberman take control of the Conn. for Lieberman Party?

    Great question, Duros.

    The answer is even better:

Lieberman created the party last August to run for re-election as an independent after losing the state’s Democratic primary to Ned Lamont of Greenwich. However, Lieberman never joined the new party and remains a registered Democrat.

Orman issued a news release Tuesday asking Lieberman to immediately resign and urging Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell to appoint Susan Henshaw, secretary of the Connecticut for Lieberman Party, as his replacement.

    The Post doesn’t say whether Henshaw supports Orman’s demand for Lieberman’s ouster, but it’s quite possible that Lieberman has lost the support of both members of the party that bears his name.{emphasis added}

What?! Is this shit even legal? Lieberman is not a member of his own party…. aaaand members of that party don’t support him…..

He created a party for himself and then didn’t join it…..

    Wha…. bu….

    Wow.
