8 Year Old In Trouble For Sexual Conduct Initiated By 14 Year Old

bizarro

At some point Bizarro took over this planet and never looked back.

A mother is upset after a 14-year-old babysitter engaged in sexual conduct with her eight-year-old boy, and the eight-year-old was charged with lewd conduct.

Prosecutors have since dropped the charges against the boy, but his mother is still concerned.

The sexual conduct occurred during a game of “truth or dare” while the boy was being watched by the babysitter.

Prosecutors say that, while the babysitter initiated the contact, the young boy was a willing participant.

“She dared my son to touch her breasts,” says Michelle Grosbeck, the boy’s mother.

    Oh my gawd!

When the mother finally gets around to telling the boy about how he was conceived, the shit’s really gonna hit the fan.

Ah. Brings back fond memories of my childhood babysitter Megan. Thank God the country wasn’t so F’ed up 35 years ago.

    Oliver,

You categorized this as weird, but sadly, this has happened on many occasions. So it’s more predictable than weird.

We have a legal system that assumes that any contact between a male and a female must’ve been initiated at the male’s behest, regardless of where common sense and the facts point.

So though domestic violence occurs 30% of the time when women beat men, it is almost 100% of the time the male that is arrested.

And if you follow FARK or the news, you’ll see that though women teachers are always in the news after engaging in sexual activities with their male students, the women teachers are very rarely punished severely. But turn that around, and male teachers are constantly being sent to jail for very long terms.

We have a system that provides incentives for arresting and penalizing males and provides way too much negative feedback for adverse outcomes while not penalizing mistaken outcomes.

So for example, the welfare reform law made it almost mandatory for women to name who the father was, and then insists the States go after the father for child support.

There is no negative feedback if the women names the wrong father. And yet, there is no mandatory DNA test for both parents. And worse, if the man doesn’t respond within 30 days (say he is overseas in Iraq), then a default judgment can be lodged against him. And if the response doesn’t occur within a timely period, the judgment may not ever be overturned.

Oliver, if you want to learn more about this, I would add the following links to your blogroll:

Glenn Sacks: http://glennsacks.com/blog Glenn is a Father’s Right’s Activist. If you read Glenn, you will discover he is basically a progressive liberal and he advises using common sense to help reform many of our very gendered based institutions.

Wendy Kaminer: http://thephoenix.com/TheFreeForAll/ Kaminer is an ACLU lawyer and a feminist. Many feminists are not happy with Kaminer as she opposes speech codes and decries self-victimization.

    Cathy Young:
    http://www.reason.com/allarticles
Cathy Young is a feminist libertarian journalist who specializes in, amongst other things, feminism, and the abuses of modern day feminism on our legal institutions

    Amy Alkon:
    http://www.advicegoddess.com/
Amy Alkon is, well, I am not sure how to classify her, or if she needs a classification. I would say she is basically libertarian, or maybe self-reliant. Very very against the war and Bush. But also against health care. But she writes well, has interesting posts, and provides another women’s viewpoint on issues of sexuality and feminism, and yet, no one could ever claim that Amy wanted women to go back into the kitchen. Just the reverse in fact. (A bad summarization is that Amy probably wants everyone to be self-sufficient, to whatever the hell they want, and get the hell off her lawn.)

Nadine Strossen: Nadine is the head of the ACLU.

Seriously, all of these people are very interesting reads.

What’s more is that after reading them for a while, you may wish to ask yourself why several of them are not identifying themselves as Democrats or as Progressives or Liberals. It’s to our loss.

And you may wish to examine the comment policies they have and compare those to the comment policies and the policies espoused by several on your blogroll and decide for yourself who the real, actual, liberals are, and who are a bunch of authoritarian goons that progressives for some reason are compelled to align themselves with.

Hint: the true feminists today call themselves equity feminists and are an outgrowth of “2nd wave feminism” and not what “3rd wave victimization feminism”

(Another interesting point, for what it’s worth, every single person above is Jewish.)

I’ll be gone for about a week, have fun at your blog!

This is a story from 2005. If this sort of thing is common, as Jerry asserts, why have we heard so little about it over the past 2 years? And why can’t Jerry find any further examples?

I think Jerry is just another guy who doesn’t like to pay child support, like 99% of Glenn Sacks’ readers.

Yeah. Reading his post that’s the feeling I got as well.

Using Fark, which is amazingly mysoginistic, as a source is not a good way to sound legitimate.

I wouldn’t take this very far Oliver. If you like, you can find a bunch of cases in which the babysitter hustles the kid, gets pregnant, sues the boy and gets child support from him (actually his parents), AND threatens to sue him because he can’t come up with the cash.

I remember first reading cases like this in Law School. Older now, I am sure the prof put them in as troll bait. Sure made the class discussions lively!

Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot: 20 something male rapes, knocks up 13 year old girl, forces her to have the baby, gets custody AND makes her pay child support.
