The Republican National Committee, hit by a grass-roots donors’ rebellion over President Bush’s immigration policy, has fired all 65 of its telephone solicitors, Ralph Z. Hallow will report Friday in The Washington Times.
Faced with an estimated 40 percent fall-off in small-donor contributions and aging phone-bank equipment that the RNC said would cost too much to update, Anne Hathaway, the committee’s chief of staff, summoned the solicitations staff last week and told them they were out of work, effective immediately, the fired staffers told The Times.
This is great!
The RNC is firing the people who bring in the money because they want to save money?
Kinda like giving out tax cuts because you have a deficit!

My dad got a call from the RNC the other day. He said the lady on the phone “shuddered at the thought of Hillary and Nancy Pelosi putting on their high heels and marching up the steps to the White House.”
I dunno what that means exactly.
So he said to her “How much money would I have to give you so you could guarantee Karl Rove goes to jail?”
She said,”I take it you aren’t a republican, then?”
“No, I’m not.”
“Man, I’m not having a good day.”
..and she hung up.
