I am still scratching my head over why more blacks and other minorities don’t vote Republican.

Oliver, you really dropped the ball on this one (or at least the word Christian). O’Reilly and McCain agree on their:
white, Christian, male power structure
They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure,
For once, O’Reilly has me dead to rights. That is what I want.
“For once, O’Reilly has me dead to rights. That is what I want.”
Same here, and I’m two of those three things.
You’re a power structure?
Yes, the Christian part is crucial in his singling out the New York Times. NYT is still fairly white and male, but the folks on the right sometimes seem to think the N is a J.
CS: Same here, man.
Sounds to me like McCain is only agreeing with O’Reilly’s assertion that we need to cap the number of illegal aliens in the country.
Quite a bit is said between O’Reilly’s “white Christian male power structure” comment and McCain’s “I agree with you.”
But you’d never know that if you just read Oliver’s cherry-picker post.
You have a point there, Mike. But look- the guy is a major candidate for President of the United States. The fact that he did’t say “hey, wait a minute” and call BOR out on “White, Male, Christian” statement the second he made it is just as appalling.
“Sounds to me like McCain is only agreeing with O’Reilly’s assertion that we need to cap the number of illegal aliens in the country.”
Then he should have said that.
When someone says something incredibly racist when describing an issue like O’Reilly did, and gives you a way of fixing said issue, you don’t give a blanket agreement in the end. If you do, one can assume you agree with all of it.
John McCain agrees with Bill O’Reilly
Nope, that’s the money shot for me. Game over, man!
