George Tenet On Sixty Minutes

He just doesn’t come across well. He seems combative, argumentative, etc. In other words, another incompetent Bush administration official (and yes, I know he was there before Bush came in). As I noted - this guy was CIA director at the time of the worst intelligence failure in U.S. history. He didn’t say a damn thing when we invaded Iraq, when he received the medal of honor and on and on until he’s got a book to push in order to financially benefit himself.

Just not credible.

Yes, he did seem argumentative and combative on Sixty Minutes, but how much of the interview was not shown?

I intend to buy the book and weigh what he has to say.

I thought he seemed a little nuts, actually. Not that I think he’s not more credible than the Cheney/Bush team, but still…a little over the top, huh?

I guess the buck didn’t stop at the Clinton White House then.

    another incompetent Bush administration official
You got a macro for that, Oliver?

  5. Gravatar Icon 5 mambochicken23

Frank, rephrased: “Why do you have to keep on mentioning that so many people in the Bush administration are incompetent jerkoffs? It makes me sad. Waaaaah!”

Cry more, Frank. It’s all you can do when the truth slaps you in the face.

medal of honor? medal of freedom wasn’t it?

http://www.fas.org/irp/congress/1997_hr/s970506t.htm — 1997 — “As such challenges make clear, the enduring and fundamental mission of intelligence will remain what it has always been: to be the nation’s first line of defense. If I am confirmed I would have the privilege of leading people who are charged with being first:

    – The first to discern an impending threat to the security of the United States and its people, sometimes long before the signs are persuasive, or even apparent, to others;

    – The first to make these concerns known to the President, the Congress, and other senior leaders; … “

    A**hole.

actually chicken, shouldn’t it be Clinton administration jerkoff? As I recall, Clenis put Tenant in office, nyet?

  10. Gravatar Icon 10 z adura

Pedro, you’re right. Clinton hired Tennet. Bush hired the Goss, who turned out - in typical Bush fashion - to be corrupt and incompetent at the same time.

Bush hired the Goss, who turned out - in typical Bush fashion - to be corrupt and incompetent at the same time.

    LMAO

We aint heard the last of Porter Goss his ass will be subpoenaed soon

    shorter zadura:

“no,no…look over HERE…its a monkey! Forget that Tenant is a democrat stooge ”

The ever so smooth art of liberal prestidigitation and moving the goalposts….

I also intend to get the book. Putting aside his obvious attempts at rehabilitation, here is someone with the unique knowledge of the skeletons for two administrations.

“You got a macro for that, Oliver?”

If he hasn’t, he should get one.

  15. Gravatar Icon 15 Nimrod Gently

Clenis. That’s still funny after more than a decade. No, wait, it isn’t and never was.

  16. Gravatar Icon 16 mambochicken23

yes, yes, Clinton hired Tenet. We all know this. Sure, it doesn’t reflect well on Clinton. But Tenet worked under Bush as well, who saw it fit to give him a freakin’ medal of freedom.

    Please read for content:
other words, another incompetent Bush administration official (and yes, I know he was there before Bush came in).

That’s right, shouters. Hired by Clinton. Yet still a “Bush administration official”! How is it possible? Didn’t they purge all those evil, evil Clinton appointees?

    Short short answer: No.

A little longer short answer: Tenet directed the CIA under the current President; therefore he is a “Bush administration official.”

  18. Gravatar Icon 18 WingBot 5000

    YES BUT CLINTON

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 pedromd07

oh he gave him a medal! Well, that clarifies everything chicken…

Check back on that whole “truth slapping you in the face” thing eh?

  20. Gravatar Icon 20 Shorter Pedro

I’ve been conclusively proved to be in the wrong, but I’m going to act like the opposite is true in case doing so somehow fundamentally changes reality in my favour.

  21. Gravatar Icon 21 mambochicken23

Pedro, check out Quaker’s latest post for the explanation on how someone could work both under Clinton and Bush. It’s not hard.

You might actually be dumber than Frank.

  22. Gravatar Icon 22 z adura

Pedro, what an ugly, flaccid little man you are and so absent of historical memory.

Tenet was Clinton’s second choice after Republicans objected to first choice Anthony Lake. What was wrong with Lake? Jesse Helms didn’t like him for what he called “rough spots.” So, he chose Tenet, a moderate Republican, to ensure Republican confirmation.

Bush could certainly have asked for Tenet’s resignation like he did James Lee Witt, the Clinton appointee to FEMA. Instead, Tenet stayed on to serve again. Then, Bush gave him the medal of freedom. Am I missing any details from 2001-2004? Aw shucks, I can’t remember.

Nonetheless, and I repeat, Goss is all Bush.

Nuance, context and consideration of the full facts are for pansy-ass Liberals.

  24. Gravatar Icon 24 fd10801

You might actually be dumber than Frank.
Which would make us both smarter than you.

  25. Gravatar Icon 25 mambochicken23

haha, Frank. First off, I’d like to point out that your little jab doesn’t even make sense… if Pedro is dumber than you, it doesn’t say anything about whether he’s smarter than me, EVEN if we were to make the ridiculous assumption that you were more intelligent than me. It would be possible for him to be dumbest, followed by me, and then you. You see what I’m getting at?

Secondly, if I were to ever say anything so dumb as

“Check back on that whole “truth slapping you in the face” thing eh?”"

in response to a post like mine, where I acknowledge that Tenet has ties to Clinton as well as Bush, I would voluntarily jump off the nearest tall building. Seriously. Idiocy so profound bothers the hell out of me, and if I exhibited it I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.

Third, for an old man, you sure are a whiny, childlike bitch. Seriously… your latest post has all the maturity of me, circa 1987 (I was 5 years old then).

  26. Gravatar Icon 26 fd10801

mambochicken: I’m looking for the right tall building. You know, in case you need it soon. Save your psychoanalysis for the tic - tac - toe playing chickens
