Condi Rice: Bush Is Her… “Feed”. EW!

I think I threw up in my mouth a little.

And Rice was drawn to Bush. “First of all, I thought he was wonderful to be around,” she recalled, sitting on the couch in her State Department office. “He was warm and funny and easy to be around. I thought he had just an incredibly inquisitive mind … You could barely finish an explanation before he was digging into it.”

Bush was also a bad boy. And Rice, according to friends and family, had a thing for bad boys. That was why, as a 20-year-old grad student, she preferred her second Fighting Irish football player boyfriend to her first, said Jane Robinett, Rice’s best Notre Dame friend: John “Dubie” Dubenetzky, cocky and handsome with wavy blond hair, was less deferential than Wayne Bullock, the sweet fullback who had moved Condi’s boxes into Lewis Hall.

Rice’s friends insisted the attraction to Bush was platonic, but Brenda Hamberry-Green, her Palo Alto hairdresser, who had spent years commiserating with Rice over how hard it was for successful black women to find a good man, noticed a change when Rice started working for Bush. “He fills that need,” Hamberry-Green decided. “Bush is her feed.”

I’ll be honest — my opinion of Bush would go up were I to find out he was having an affair with Rice. It would make him seem like less of an empty suit.

Well, she also dated and was briefly engaged to Rick Upchurch from the Denver Broncos while she was getting her PhD at the University of Denver after her Masters’ at Notre Dame.

Her penchant, shall we say, for fotball players has led her to say her “dream job” (that is, of course, if she is not jailed for her refusal to answer subpoenas and her complicity in the Bush Misadministration) is to become NFL Commish.

My favorite Condi story is while she was NSA for GW, she called GW her “husband” at a press conference and she had to quickly cover up.

I think I felt twisted, unclean, and Bizarro when I heard that little piece of goosip, just as now.

Here’s a Link to her attachment to football since early on.

Rice’s description of Bush as “inquisitive” is pretty much at odds with any known, filmed instance of Bush being briefed. For example, when Bush is briefed about the possibility of the levees in New Orleans failing as Katrina approached, he sat silently and asked no questions.

Paul O’Neill also described Bush has remaining silent and not asking any questions during his briefings. I’m not sure I find Rice’s description credible.

“You could barely finish an explanation before he was digging into it”

In other words, he’s just the kind of rude asshole who will constantly interrupt you before you finish what you’re saying. Usually without understanding what you were trying to say.

    Good to know.

SV, this post over at Pandagon may help explain it, too:

Just FYI, the phrase “i threw up in my mouth a little” is about a year past its prime. Was funny for awhile, but please make up your own funnies rather than taking them from shitty movies.

And I am a lefty who enjoys your site.

If you are a “writer” or blogger, or however you identify yourself, you can differentiate yourself from others by coming up with new ways of describing the SOS, so please experiment and get creative.
