Factually Challenged

A writer at the far-right online magazine, American Thinker, in a screed attacking Barack Obama writes this:

Five years ago the White House and Congress were barely spared, but only because the passengers on Flight 94 took matters into their own hands, and died as a result.

Of course, every other American knows that the flight in question was United Flight 93. I mean, it’s not like we all watched the same event or if they made a movie about it. Oh, wait.

Never forget the lessons of September 18th.

Not to mention, it’s pretty much impossible for that plane to have hit _both_ Congress _and_ the WH… they’re a few blocks apart, IIRC…

I gotta say he does have a point about where are the FDR’s and JFK’s of our generation.

    But that’s about it.

    Love this part.
Where’s Art Buchwald when we need him?

“Hello, I’m Art Buchwald and I just died.”

I didn’t see Flight 93 because I was really dissapointed with Flight 92 and saw no good reason to blow my hard-earned cash on yet another lame sequel…

Umm… “the White House and Congress were spared?”

Did they crash the plane before the terrorists hit up, up-left, left + punch and executed the dual split fireball maneuver, because even though I live in Washington, you shouldn’t have to live here to know that the White House and the U.S. Capitol building are over a mile apart from each other.

And yes, it would have been a tragedy if the White House were wrecked, but at least the author was smart enough to not say “the President” as he was in Florida on 9/11 reading a book to schoolchildren. So if we saved him and Congress, man, that must have been a hell of a blast radius.

    F*cking idiot.

I wanted to post this to him, but, not surprisingly, no comments section.

The link Duros supplied never ceases to make me laugh. I seriously could just watch that cartoon for an hour and just laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Does that make me simple? Perhaps.

Back to the topic at hand… that blogger is a moron on at least 3 different levels. How do people like this manage to live to an age where they can document their stupidity on a very-public stage? Seems like they should have gotten run over in the street at an early age.
