Actually, the thing with Moore is that he treats his employees like crap. Unfortunatley, many liberals believe you can pay slave wages if it's "for a good cause".

Slept in a bit today and while eating breakfast popped on the TV to some Fox talking heads show and couldn't believe my ears. In response to the Edwards announcement I saw all the following:

Right-wing shill #1 said he wanted to re-introduce the word "unctuous" to the American discourse. His example: the assertion (pulled entirely out of his ass) that, as Dick "dick" Morris has suggested, the Clintons have some dirt on Edwards and are blackmailing him to force him to run so as to make Hillary (or Obama) look good. Otherwise they'd spill the dirt, that he's an associate of Squeaky Fromme or something.

Since he was announcing in New Orleans and presumably speaking to the downtrodden in America, the spokesbimbo piped up with "But how can he do that? He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth!" (got that RNC talking points memo today!) Fortunately they did have one woman on the panel who was a Democrat who pointed out Edwards was the son of a poor miner and worked through school and became successful, much closer to the American Dream than the life of George W. (I assume she will be removed from the panel in future.)

Then spokesbimbo changed directions and said, "Well, OK, he's successful and rich, but then why is he still a Democrat?" Ah yes, talking point #3, the R's are party of the successful, being a D and rich at the same time is an oxymoron. This is the same BS I hear from the right "Why should Michael Moore make movies about the plight of the poor? He's rich now!" (I would like to see this logic applied to doctors: "I learned medicine to be healthy, why should I have to deal with these annoying sick people?")

I think it's great. Edwards contributes much to the debate and his positivity will elevate the '08 campaign. I also like that he's taken to speaking extemporaneously more often than from prepared remarks these days. And still sounding intelligent.

I'm also glad that he's challenging McCain on issues rather than just trying to connect him to Bush. If McCain is wrong, show the voters how he's wrong. Don't try to make him seem guilty by association with Bush and Republicans, which seems to be the current strategy of the lefty blogosphere.

I like the "McCain Doctrine" bit. The less like a serious candidate that guy seems the better.

I see John Edwards talking about places he's been and things he sees that need to be done, and then telling me to do them. While some kids clean up a yard.

Edwards Does Not Get It.

He's lookin' not only in, but around the globe. Check out this other video of Edwards by CJ NCDem.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWRmwlMsGyw

I'm walkin' to NO.

Meantime, Robert Scoble is in NOLA too and travelling with Edwards. Scoble of Podtech. How cool is that?

http://scobleizer.com/

Stay tuned, I may have a few thoughts more later in the day.
