The Upside Of Losing

Sure, the Redskins lost in a game between two bad teams (the sorry, sorry tacklers in the Redskins defense made Cadillac Williams look like Emmitt Smith), but Jason Campbell looked pretty good. Not OH MY GOD good, but certainly better than Mark Brunnell dinking for five yards good.

BONUS: Campbell apparently asked Doug Williams for permission to wear his #17 jersey. The last time the Redskins had a black QB with #17 some awesome things happened.

My iggles just lost “Chunky Soup Man” for the season; how do you think I feel?

The kid looked good, he is the future of this team.

The color commentator made some very good comments about the overall problems with the Skins

They have to figure out what kind of team they want to be and then focus on the being the best they can.

Campbell’s mechanics look, dare I say, clah-siiic. But will he be more John Unitas or Todd Blackledge? (Trending toward the former for the moment.)

Yeah, I have to agree that Campbell looked good wearing number 17 this week. In fact, he was about the only thing that looked good for the ‘Skins on Sunday. These guys really need to start pounding the ball up the middle with Duckett and make teams leave the back of the field open for Jason and his cannon arm.

Sunday reminded me a lot of Gibbs’ first season back. Remember when he finally pulled Brunell and let Ramsey play, how good Patrick looked even when they lost? Then Gibbs backtracked and fired the younger guy the first chance he had. Let’s hope we don’t see a repeat of that.

It was a money thing with Ramsey getting yanked. The Redskins overpaid the good Christian Brunell when no one else in the league wanted him to start and HAD to play him.

I do not like Vinny Cerrato and I don’t care if he did recruit talent for 1988 Notre Dame’s National Title (Miami turned the ball over 7 times in South Bend and the Irish still won only 31-30)

I will never forgive him joking around about Snyder needing to make sure Deion got his money when Cerrato worked for ESPN.
