Yeah, I’m so proud of my Senator (Chafee) for sticking to his guns even though he got un-elected. I would have voted for him, but my policy this time was “No Incumbents. Period.” And it seemes to work out.
Somebody asked me on Wednesday if I won or not. I said, “Honey, we all won.”

I just heard Rahm Emanuel on NPR outlining the new majority’s plans for the first 100 hours of the new session:

-increase the minimum wage
-give the government authority to negotiate drug prices
-vote on 9-11 commission recommendations
-pay as you go rules for new spending

It will only be necessary to “wake up” in the sense that, come January, we Democrats and progressives will have a world of work ahead of us.

I’m sure correcting the effects of over a decade of right-wing misrule will be very tiring. But at the end of the day it will be a good kind of tired.

I just worry about the conservative’s ability to work the media. That nonsense with John Kerry got kept alive for DAYS, and it meant basically nothing. Despite Democrats’ making relative gains here, people at the top levels of the media are simply much less suspicious of GOP spin about Democrats than vice-versa.
