My experience with not non-historically unprecedented hurricane related construction taught me that when a contractor says a job will take 30 days, he doesn’t necessarily mean 30 consecutive days… And I didn’t have 250,000 friends and neighbors trying to build/restore their houses at the same time…

The cleanup and reconstruction is taking so long so that the “undesireables” don’t come back to the city. That way the neocons can rebuild the city like some white-washed theme park. Call it “DixieLand!” All the flavor of New Orleans without any the taste.
