Last week, the cons were all in a lather (professional idiot Michelle Malkin called it “Dearbornistan terror arrests”) about supposed terrorists who made the error of buying cell phones. And now?
The three Dallas-area men arrested in Michigan on state terrorism charges are well-known to cell phone wholesale and retail shops here, where managers said Monday they are part of a brisk trade in buying phones from Wal-Mart and other discount stores and reselling them to smaller shops.
In Michigan, meanwhile, the FBI said it has no information to indicate that the three Palestinian-Americans arrested with about 1,000 cell phones in their van on Friday had any connections to terrorism.
And, in an unrelated case, an Ohio prosecutor said he didn’t have enough evidence to present felony terrorism charges against two Michigan men also arrested with a number of cell phones in their car.
Oh. Is it time now to make Emily Litella the official mascot of the Republican party?

It’s unconscionable that a major political party would use fear as a political weapon.
Say, how’s that global warming crisis coming?
How dare those terrorists buy cellphones for resale? Everyone knows that capitalism and entrepreneurship are reserved for white Christian Republicans!
Farris, global warming is not a political issue. It certainly isn’t in the rest of the developed world where they are moving with due haste. It is only the Exxon scientists who have bent the ear of our Godly president that make it so in this country. Oh, and their obedient followers…
farris will believe in global warming only when the GOP starts getting serious about it, and that won’t happen until Republicans living in Palm Beach start noticing the sea level rising higher on their oceanfront property. Until then, it’s a partisan issue.
Apropos Emily Litella, it would seem very appropriate and reasonable Oliver, for you to document the Malkin Wikipedia page with her Emily Litella moments over the years.
What would be inappropriate but more fun would be to replace her photo on that page with some of her more representative moments.
One of these days Oliver, I want a post/essay/book from you describing your experience with all the different blog tools you have used and why you left one for another and what it took to migrate.
Say, how’s that global warming crisis coming?
Why do you love skin cancer so much?

If these guys had been guilty, naturally they would have confessed everything and pleaded for forgiveness from Allah, because, you know, terrorists never lie or try to conceal their true intentions. Didn’t we spot Mohammed Atta wearing an “I’m Blowing Up The World Trade Center” t-shirt just a few days before 9-11?
I’m sure most Arab-Americans are so dumb that they’ll pay $40 for a disposable cell phone from Uncle Habib instead of buying one at Target for $19.95. What were those crazy cops thinking?
But because we don’t have a “slam-dunk” case, we may have to let these guys go. Seems this is just another example of the “effectiveness” of law enforcement with respect to terrorism.
(Ps - Dearborn Michigan has one of the highest Muslim populations in the US, and is ripe with pro-Islamic and anti-American sentiment. That’s why its referred to as “Dearbornistan.”)
So it was ok for Jesse Jackson to call New York “Hymietown” 20 years ago, since NYC has the highest Jewish population in the country?
I don’t know about the “anti-American” sentiment in Dearborn, considering they came to live in America, but I would hope that Muslims would be “pro-Islamic”.
Last week, Oliver was all in a lather about how fighting terrorism was “better prosecuted via law enforcement”. Earlier than that, Oliver took pains to say that we should never torture, even if it stops terrorists.
Oops. Looks like Oliver & Co. are objectively pro-terrorist.
