The Clinton Legacy

I hear what some people say when they don’t feel President Clinton was progressive enough in his eight years… but frankly, Clinton got crap support from the left during his presidency. It wasn’t until he faced impeachment that House Dems rallied around him.

Sure, I’m an avowed Clintonista but even from an objective point of view the only two-term Democratic president in a generation who balanced the budget, reformed welfare and actually caught terrorists on his watch is worthy of praise.

Clinton’s the only 2-term Dem President in a generation period.

Oh man. Absolutely the most HILARIOUS thing you’ve written in quite some time.

    Priceless.

Clinton was the best Republican president we’ve had since Ike.

Clinton was not the MOST progressive of democrats but he was not “a good conservative” either. I think while he enjoyed a great deal of support(unlike Bush 1 and 2) the progressive community could have supported him more and not just during Republicans War against sex.

    McVeigh.

Clinton wasn’t a great president, like a Lincoln or a Jefferson, but he was pretty good. He would have achieved more had he been less of a wuss, had he demonstrated an agenda of his own and the balls to back it up once in a while, but what he did achieve is notable given his starting point of the inevitable collapse of the Reagan-Bush house of cards.

    Nimrod:

Also Kaczynski. Actually, would he be considered a terrorist, or just some lone nut?

Its only funny Caruso, in that you think Bush has done a good job catching terrorists. Strange though, I just feel sad and sickened by the Bush record, not like laughing at all.

PS: Catching terrorists? Not so much…

Bill Clinton: not one documented lie. Not one. Ask Dugger for the details.

well tomy, except of course the one he admitted to. Or wasn’t that his DNA on the blue dress?

  11. Gravatar Icon 11 TomY

Any he hasn’t admitted to, Pedro?

    “Clinton wasn t a great president, like a Lincoln or a Jefferson…”

We will never see that sort of greatness in a President ever again.

“Yasser Arafat, the only person to wear a loaded firearm while addressing the UN GA”

Colin Powell, the only person to bring live Anthrax as a visual aide to the UN GA.

  14. Gravatar Icon 14 AnalogKid

Clinton kept catching Yasser Arafat at the White House.

Oddly enough, he kept letting that terrorist go. Kind of like the ‘catch and release’ terrorist immigration program.

Yasser Arafat, the only person to wear a loaded firearm while addressing the UN GA.

  15. Gravatar Icon 15 drpedro

    ahh yes, Colin Powell=Yasser Arafat……

    Brilliant…

  16. Gravatar Icon 16 duros62

Ok, never mind. Just imagine plus signs in between. :-)

  17. Gravatar Icon 17 duros62

    That should read like this
Yassar Arafat gun UN GA= bad idea.
Colin Powell Anthrax UN GA = bad idea.

  18. Gravatar Icon 18 duros62

Lemme break it down for ya.
Yassar Arafat gun UN GA= bad idea.
Colin Powell Anthrax UN GA = bad idea.

    That is all I’m saying.

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 duros62

No, dumbass, not =. Not same as, but similar to, since we are in teh habit of false equivalency.
Don’t put words in my mouth.

  20. Gravatar Icon 20 drpedro

    Oh, thats much clearer…..

But since you obviously didn’t score all that high on the english portion of the SAT let me explain something to you…

Colin brought in something as a means of demonstrating a point.

Yasser is was a terrorist who went everywhere armed, the gun was a tool that he was willing to use…

    See the difference?

  21. Gravatar Icon 21 Nimrod Gently

Yosser had a gun because an awful lot of people wanted to kill him. It wasn’t as if he’d pull it out of his coat every five minutes when he wasn’t getting his way. He had an army for that.

  22. Gravatar Icon 22 drpedro

yea, no question yasser was at tremendous risk standing on the dais of the UN General Assembly.

So you are a big believer in the american second amendment then I take it nimrod? Are you familiar with it?

  23. Gravatar Icon 23 AnalogKid

First off, Nimrod, Arafat wore a gun at the UN without asking that anyone else in the building be disarmed.

Secondly, he went on back to his ‘army’ and bragged about how strong he was that to make the UN capitulate to him on the issue.

Thirdly, even if your insipid suggestion were correct, it just shows Arafat to be the coward he was. The left is constantly harping on Bush for “sending America’s children to do his dirty work” and then forget how they praised Arafat, even though he sent tens if not hundreds of brainwashed youths to their deaths by ordering them to walk Israel’s streets in suicide bomb vests.

Ok, that screw you part, I was fiddling around with html and accidently hit submit. Anyhow, let me try again.

So you are a big believer in the american second amendment then I take it nimrod? Are you familiar with it?

The right to bear arms? Yeah, I’m familiar with it.

Clinton did actually fight terrorism, and all without going to war, burying the country in debt, shredding the Constitution, or decimating foreign relations.
