It’s Okay If You’re A Republican

Melanie Morgan says Bill Keller and any journalists she disagrees with should be killed. Her penalty? She’s invited as a panelist on MSNBC’s Hardball tonight.

But she’s a Republican, so its okay.

I was looking for the part that said, “Any newspaperman I disagree with should be killed.”

    Surprise, surprise! I couldn’t find it…

    Actually, she said this:

“If he were to be tried and convicted of treason, yes, I would have no problem with him being sent to the gas chamber,” Morgan, whose show airs on KSFO-AM, told The Chronicle on Wednesday.”

You have to follow two links to find her actual words, but in essence that’s what she said. While some republicans, such as Peter King, may be hyperventilating, all this talk about prosecuting him is mostly hot air anyway.

“The accusations of treasonous media may play well on TV shoutfests like MSNBC’s “Hardball,” where Morgan appeared this week, and on the conservative-friendly FOX News, but legal experts say the administration has little legal precedent to prosecute journalists under the 1917 Espionage Act.”

    Thanks for the typing…

As opposed to: “Melanie Morgan says Bill Keller and any journalists she disagrees with should be killed

    See it now?

She seems to be advocating that he be “tried and convicted of treason” and has no problem with him being sent to the gas chamber. The fact that she did not use the word “journalists” is rather moot.

I also find this rather hypocritical by a supporter of the Bush Administration. Especially when one considers intentional leaks senior officials have coordinated when they feel it is beneficial to their own ambitions this really sounds like bullshit.

“It is about revealing classified secrets in the time of war. And the media has got to take responsibility for revealing classified information that is putting American lives at risk.”

As I said before, this is mostly hot air by talk show hosts and some republican politicians.

Oh Bush, don’t forget hot air by our congenial host Oliver, who again makes stuff up.

Maybe this is why his readership is slowly diminishing….

Good point, peedy. But there is plenty of it going around, especially on this blog, way too much for Ollie to be the sole source. But most of the hot air on this subject is coming from republican politicans.

The point is, that perhaps she finds Keller’s behavior treasonous, and desereving of capital punishment. While the idea that anybody could be to traitor to AmeriKKKa is foreign, some people may symoathize with her.
She is by no means recommendibg the death penalty for any journalist who disagree with her.
While that is a liberal fantasy, it is not a conservative dream.

shoot Bushwacked…..if we convicted politicians of either party for hot air production, they’d all be in jail. Hey…maybe you have an idea here….!

I detect a tone of desperation in all this murderous talk.
So what’s the punishment for releasing parts of the National Intelligence Estimate? What’s the punishment for releasing the name of covert NOC agents?
I agree with Al Franken that there should be a constitutional amendment that a former president can’t be executed….

I think there should be a Constitutional amendment that all former SNL cast members who can’t make it, should get one try, and then they should be executed.
    Buh - bye, Al!

Let me guess. This woman is a blonde conservative pundit. What she says sure does sound familiar.
