McCain ‘08 Off To A Roaring Start

John McCain is about to collect a presidential endorsement from the pro-segregation Trent Lott. When Lott endorses McCain, someone ought to ask the media darling if he too thinks America would be better off if the racist slime Strom Thurmond had been elected president.

At one time I admired and considered him to be a viable alternative
to the current swill of Wingnut Nationals.

But his return to the vomit of Bush Worship in 2004 and thereafter,
as well as his public and nasty letter to Obama gives credence to
the charge that he is a ’stealth moderate’. In my book of life he is
    DOA.

New poll out shows Giuliani as the most popular politician in the U.S., ahead of McCain, Barak and both Clintons.

Means nothing, I know. But it is still interesting to see where Giuliani rates at this early stage.

You crack me up Oliver. Pro-segregation. That’s funny.

Yeah- we all know what Lott said trying to make an old man feel good on his birthday. Pretty stupid stuff and had he thought it out more he probably never would have never said it. Took a pretty good beating from fellow Republicans for it as I recall.

But I was wondering how you were going to slime Media Hound I (hound II is Biden.) Guess we have a new talking point for McCain. McCain is a racist. NEXT!

Start lining ‘em up folks so Oliver can take his swipes.

Are going to try an fit “racist” in for all the Republicans, Oliver? That tactic is kinda tired and pretty hard to slap on McCain of all people, but it’s worth a shot.

    Giuliani is next!

So Lott didn’t lose his leadership post for making a pro-segregation statement? Because he did. I’m not sure how stating the facts of the matter is sliming, except I guess when the subject is a Republican.

    Marty,
Are you saying that Thurmond wasn’t pro-segregation? Are you saying that Lott didn’t say that the country would be better off Thurmond had been elected president? Is that same man not endorsing McCain?

Where exactly did we lose you?

Yea, except that Byrd denounced his past and Thurmond wnet to his grave proudly singing the segregation song.

When you say things like that, “pro segregation”, you lose all right to ever, ever protest when Democratic party icon Grand Kleagle Byrd’s KKK bona fides are discussed.

Leroy, The comment was made in reference to Lott, not Thurmond.

Actually, Lott has been a long-time supporter of the Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC). CofCC has been called the “KKK with neckties.”

Even long after CofCC was exposed as a white supremacist group–Lott refused to denounce them and regularly contributed articles to their magazine.

But Senator Dodd standing up on the floor of the Senate praising Sen. Byrd as being the right man at any point in history is to be overlooked.

Personally, I am glad that the left has these childish positions to fall back on. It just goes to show how patently un-serious they are, and how devoid of content their own positions (or lack thereof) are.

As is reflected by the fact that over 90% of the black population votes Democratic.

    I wouldn’t vote for McCain for anything. He’s anti-choice.

To you, junior, I say, what a horse’s patootie you are!

    Hey hattie,

Its a slow afternoon. If it were McCain versus a pro-abortion Adolph Hitler, would you vote for McCain?

    How ‘one issue’ are you?
