I’m supposed to be pulling for the Seahawks. Traditionally I always pull for the NFC team, because my team is from the NFC. But dang it, the Seahawks aren’t an NFC team. NFC teams are supposed to be blue collar style teams, grinding the ball out at RFK or hurling the ball through a snow covered sky at Giants stadium… I simply cannot get the image of a bunch of Niles Crane clones whooping it up for their hometown Seahawks out of my head.

BY THE WAY: Where does the NFL get off putting a Superbowl in Detroit when they keep passing up Fedex Field? I’ll put up the DC Metro Area vs. Detroit anytime. And yes, we have an open-air stadium… and it was 61° today. (and the field’s sponsor isn’t a relic axing 30,000 jobs either)

Thank you for pointing that out to Oliver. The Kentucky raise and pride of the University of Alabama has been dominate yet mislabled his whole college and pro career. I would rather have a great RB than a “smashmouth” defence that has no class(see Joey Porter). I will tell you why Seatle will win. The media is having a love fest with The Steelers and they can’t stop, so is Oliver(34-10?), which Seatlle feeds off of. Do people remember how they were written off versus the Panthers? I’ll put a gentlemans bet of $5 to Oliver’s prediction(that he is wrong).

I like Seattle however I dont think they are going to beat the Steelers, based on what the Steelers did to Denver and Indianapolis. The Colts score was closer than the game really was as the Steelers dominated the game. I also like Denver but they were no match for the Steelers offensive line and attacking defense. This seems to be what most of the experts are predicting but maybe things will turn out different. After all, that’s why they play the game. One good thing - at least this years winner wont be the Patriots, Sorry NE fans, but I’m kinda burnt out on them.
The entire DC area is an insular relic, Detroit has the advantage of being in the real world.
And Ford, they may be a relic but they pay well and they treat people well. I suspect you’ve not been driving their cars, or GM’s cars, lately.
Toyota doesn’t make better cars, neither does Honda.
No clap at either of those union fearing altered beasts, their quality is also high.
My prediction is 40-6 Pistons win. There is only one dominate team in Detroit this year.
Other than that Seattle 31-16. Pittsburgh played Detroit and in football, anything that actually comes in contact with the Detroit Lions is contaminated and doomed to failure.

They’ll have a Super Bowl at Fed Ex Field — when Daniel Snyder puts a dome over it. It may have been warm in DC this weekend, but the NFL ain’t taking any chances on an Ice Bowl championship.

I’m the exact opposite. I always pull for the AFC, except for the Raiders. But I see the Seahawks as the old AFC West team and I generally like the underdog.
I do remember, of course, the wonderful Super Bowl in which my Oakland Los Angeles Raiders played Oliver’s Washington Redskins. That was a great game.
