That’s It?

Even though its usually evil stuff, Bush usually pulls out a hail mary for these kind of events (privatizing social security, going to war with Iraq) — but this speech seems like a big nothing.

I am still thinking about the comment to the people of Iran….

Hey guys? Have you heard there is a better way? I’m not sure what it is, or where it takes us, but it’s better. How do I know it’s better? Well, anything has to be better than the Chimpy McHitlerburton regime, am I right?

Democrats: a better way! Vague, indeterminate, not entirely forthcoming, contentious, partisan, and also better!

Did I mention better already? Yes, well then.

    HUMAN/ANIMAL HYBRIDS BITCHES!!!!!!
    The new terrorist threat: Mansquito!

(yeah, I know that’s an insect, but the mad science is inevitable if you support stem-cell research!)

There is no program other than continuing to cater to the wealthiest and most powerful segments of the populace. If people are divided on the basis of class and race, then their divisive program of hegemony can succeed.

The rest of us are left out in the cold with nothing to show for showing up and doing the right thing. Stoking people’s fear and the utilization of war to facilitate their political, economic, and social control of our republic is the bottom line of the program.

Bush had nothin’ to say other than I’m gonna keep pluggin’ along on my path of social destruction and world imperalism. Anybody who believes in what he’s selling is delusional or evil or both.

    Yes, Smith.

That one bothered me too. Didn’t he speak similarly to the people of Iraq, before the invasion?

    These are dark days.

Didn t he speak similarly to the people of Iraq, before the invasion?

Maybe it’s one of the covert “secret, even in success” missions he spoke about all those years ago….

I think Curmudgeon’s on to something… If we breeds a few dozen Mansquitos and release them in the middle east, Iran will be old news within weeks.

The difference between this speech and the others is that Bush reads the papers (or, rather has someone read them to him). He knows that he isn’t exactly rolling in political capital this time and he needs to actually make some progress before coming up with a pie-in-the-sky plan.

    Two points:

First, plastic, when you’re only given about 5 minutes to respond to an hour long speech, you’re gonna be a bit glossy. Get over it. If you’re volunteering to actually give some non-lockstep voices a chance to speak without yelling over them or cutting their mike, I’m sure we can give you the “better way” pretty clearly.

Not that you’re the sort of person to give a shit, I’m sure. Better to hunker down and “stay the course” rightt off the cliff. And I’m not just talking about Iraq.

Second, Fuming Mucker, where is that picture from? It looks so familiar, but I can’t place it…ARRGH!

You missed the part where he said he’s going to give 10 cents for solar energy and 10 trillion dollars, tax cuts, and insulation from lawsuits to nukular energy.

BTW, guess which enormous “oil services” company known for providing cafeteria food to the army because no one else could has been getting interested in nukular energy? True. Some evidence is that this company showed up a year or so ago to a conference on nukular energy in space and on Mars (bitches!)

I must say. It was an OK speech. Nothing too out there, nothing earth shattering. Which, let’s face it with this guy, is comforting.

There we go again with, ‘only republicans can have wealth, ’cause
they’ll be damned before recognizing any “noblesse oblige”‘.

Hey, at least DeLay lives modestly!!! Just ask Chris Matthews.

Pedro, are you ignorant of the fact that the Bushes are one of the wealthiest families in America? Or are you just plain ignorant?

“There is no program other than continuing to cater to the wealthiest and most powerful segments of the populace.”

    Who do you mean trevor?

    John “Gulfstream 5″ Kerry?

Teddy “I own a compound in Florida, Nantucket, Boston and I forget where else” Kennedy?

George “I’m going to buy me a revolution” Soros?

John “I make my living on the suffering of others” Edwards?

    Are those the guys trevor?

Yeah, because all the pioneers and settlers (or whatever bush’s donaters are), plus bush and bush family, cheney and his family, Trent Lott and his poor battered house…those are all just average americans. Oh, and the coors people, and flat tax forbes, and trickle down trump…

Go ahead. Take a survey. We’ll see which party most of the rich are registered. I dare ya.
